Death's job is to collect the souls of those fated to die. He decides their manner of death based on how they lived their life. One day, he is supposed to collect Lydia, a young woman who was supposed to be murdered during her shift at the coffee shop. However, Death is fascinated by Lydia and saves her life. He has fallen in love, but saving her has devastating consequences. Death has heard that there is a list of those who will be resurrected. Will he be able to get her on the list so they might have a chance at a happy ending? Read Death In Love by Bianca Scharff to find out.

I enjoyed the mix of romance and horror in this book. Given that Death is the main character, there are plenty of spooky elements to the book. He must collect souls as they die, and a few of the scenes are a bit gory. This is balanced out by the romance between Lydia and Death. Lydia, though she does not understand why, is drawn to him from their first meeting. She trusts him and wishes to learn more. Seeing this unconventional romance develop was fascinating.

I thought that the personification of Death was compelling. Before meeting Lydia, he does not believe that he is capable of love. He simply judges souls before they die and moves on. However, she was able to unlock a new aspect of his character. He has a little phrase he whispers to Lydia at times that I think sums up this change quite well: "Death is dreaming of you." Meeting Lydia gave him a reason to dream of being more than a collector of souls.

I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. I greatly enjoyed the personification of Death in the book and the mix of genres. I am taking off one star due to the number of errors I noticed; this was my only dislike. Additional proofreading would benefit this book. If you are interested in a unique love story with compelling characters, look no further than Death In Love!

I am sold. I am so sold! What do you mean Death falls in love? I really need to read it to find out what happens between him and Lydia! I hope it doesn't end in disaster. Thank you for reviewing such a good book. You're an excellent reviewer.

I have never seen a novel where death it self was a character in the book. I am beyond intrigued- I’m fascinated by the idea of how good this could be. If it’s anything like what you’ve described, then I can’t wait to read it!
