The Crystilleries of Echoland by Dew Pellucid

William and Emmy were two years old when they went missing. Those that went missing were never seen again. Except for Will, he returned after a week. His return turned his life into a nightmare. Strangers came to his home wanting to know what he remembered. He was only two how could he possibly remember? The only thing that anyone knew was a falcon and a wolf brought him back and they became his loyal pets.

Ten years later, Will is an eager 12 year old boy who’s only wish is to have his twin sister back. He doesn’t know what makes him so special, why did he get to come home and she didn’t? He knows that there has to be a way to bring her back. Maybe he had to figure out what it was that made them disappear in the first place? He knows his parents want her back home just as much as he does, but it seems they just aren’t listening to what he has to say.

Following Will on his adventures to find his sister made me have so many “oh no” moments. He discovers another universe, where there are Echoes, Fortune Tellers and Fate Sealers. A place where you never know who is truly on your side and who actually wants to kill you. This new place is so beautiful and there are so many new people to meet. Will knows that he can’t trust just anyone though.

Will soon finds out that he has an Echo of his own and that people want to kill him. He must protect it at all cost along with a coin that just might be able to change everything. Will knows he could get hurt or die trying to save it. He also knows that if he doesn’t, things might become even worse. He has come this far and he isn’t going to turn back now. He has to fix everything and save his sister.

[/i]The Crystilleries of Echoland[/i] is well written and I honestly couldn’t put it down. The author really knows how to keep readers intrigued. It’s a young adult novel but honestly, I think its so much more than that. There are moments where the fighting scenes are so intense I gasped. If you like adventures and moments of “what the heck is going to happen next?!” then this is the book for you. I don’t think someone who is younger than 12 should read it though, because some of the scenes could be considered graphic.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars and will probably reread it in the future. It was just that good. I didn’t find any errors or typos and think that it was edited well and the little illustrations here and there really added to the story. The illustrations really brought the story to life.

This sounds like a very cool premise! It also seems like the author did it justice.
Great review :)
