My love of faeries and folklore drew me to Rowan Wood Legends, and it has not disappointed! This series offers a mixture of Native American heritage along with mythical faeries making a riveting story full of plot twists, romance and heartbreak. Olivia Wildenstein has created a beautiful captivating world that has me eager to discover more. Her transition from book to book and the development of each character are very well done. I think her writing is flawless and I cannot wait to see what the future holds.

Catori is the definition of tenacity. She is stubborn to a fault but carries within her a bleeding heart of gold. Tethered to both sides of the coin she wars with the Hunters and the Faeries, unsure of who to trust. In this book, Cat loses the key she desperately needs to unlock the thousands of questions buzzing through her head, while also nursing her battered and broken heart. Haunted by misunderstandings at every corner she trudges through her day to day desperately clinging to her humanity, while wearing the face of the long passed Gottwan, Ishtu, Kajika’s aabiti, his mate. In a griping turn of events Cat finds herself in the arms of the least likely person thought possible with an arsenal of newly discovered attributes.

I love the fact that Cat is so strong willed but soft hearted. I find her character relatable to many young women in today’s culture. This book, series even, sets an ambient backdrop of self-discovery and self-acceptance. I personally am not knowledgeable of Native American traditions or heritage, but I love the incorporation in this setting. I have read a number of books involving faeries. This one depicts them in a way I have never seen, and I love this new magical world.

In my opinion there’s not a negative to this book. It hits all the major cues a book should possess. Conflict, love, hate, revenge, hurt, redemption, all the wonderful monstrous things that make us human. The reflection of emotions in a book is the drawing factor for me. I found myself empathetic to each character and longing for more of this mythical fantasy.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. It was beautifully written. I would recommend this book and series to any person, young or older, who love to escape to an enthralling magical world. I am greatly anticipating the future Rowan and Neverra hold for our heroine and troupe. Thank you Olivia Wildenstein for creating such a fascinating adventure.
