Book or Movie?

Discuss the June 2014 book of the month Divergent by Veronica Roth. While only Divergent--the first book of the series--is the book of the month, feel free to use this subforum to discuss the rest of the series or to talk about the movies, but make sure not to post spoilers unless noted in the topic title.

For me, movie definitely. Although the book is more detailed.

The book is great but the movie is better in my opinion.

Although the film is very well made and has special effects that give it a great twist and is appropriate to the technology they were able to handle in the related dystopia, in the book they speak and describe many more important things that were not taken into account in the film.
Anyway the ending was the same and the ending was not to my liking :(

Book, for sure. Movies are good but they miss out on a lot of details that cannot be interpreted through acting no matter how good the actor is.

The books are obviously fleshed out very well, something I don't think movies get enough time to cover. The first movie still managed really well, can't say the same about the following movies.

I like the physical setting of the books a lot, and I enjoyed how the movies were able to bring them to life. Movies and books both have their own pros and cons.

Books anyday, except the involvement of sound effects in movies, I will always take the book.

I liked the book better because not only did they leave out important details, but the actors don't match the characters the way you picture them in your head.

I prefer the book than the movie. Maybe because I was expecting too high every time I read a book, then there will be a movie. And it so happen that I like this book.
