Amy was obviously the stronger writer. Nick simply is not on the same playing field as her.

I agree that Amy is the better writer. She is very believable and the twist came as a punch to the guts, to know that she was fooling us all along. Even though Nick is not a "good" guy, Amy was manipulative and probably best suited for Nick. Perhaps they belong to each other.

You'd have to say Amy is the stronger writer based on how convincing her diaries were to the police and the general public. I'd only be able to analyse how convincing Nick is as a writer if he had of published a novel on Amy and told the truth about the whole ordeal.

Amy definitely is the stronger writer, and I agree it's intended that way. Nick is just your average douchebag, worst thing he's doing is cheating on his wife with a student (which is still pretty bad) but Amy is a complete psychopath, she's very aware of what she's doing and much smarter too.

I was absolutely impressed by the way Amy's writing style was portrayed in the novel. She had me completely fooled the entire time. Nick was only okay in his writing.

Amy's writing was so much better. Nick was good. Gillian Flynn did a great job on "Gone Girl", there is no doubt about that

Amy was the stronger writer. She made us sympathetic and indignant on her behalf, exactly as a sociopath would and it makes the impact so much more astounding when her true character is revealed. I just felt pity for Nick's character, on all counts.

I think Amy was the stronger writer by far, and I believe this was the author's intent. SPOILERS FOLLOW: Amy is the mastermind behind everything that happens. The only time she is tricked is when she believes Nick is repentant on his television interviews. However, I do not think she would have returned to him had she not been robbed or held captive in the lake house. Amy has everyone fooled from the beginning, and her ruthless, cut-throat attitude makes her a force to be reckoned with.

Definitely Amy. And not just because of her entries, but because she had to knit a net of lies so complicated, so perfectly designed, that it couldn't have been done by someone without a brilliant mind (wicked, but brilliant) Not to mention that pretty much the entire content of what was shown to us, was in one way or another false, and at least I believed her. That's what makes a good writer. The ability to make readers buy the idea you sell them.

Amy takes the lead for this one. Despite her being a veritable maniac, she's driven and charismatic. Nick, on the other hand, is initially portrayed as selfish and callous, then towards the end he just seemed defeated and whiny.

I think Amy is a stronger writer because of her ability to write a whole lifestyle whilst nick wrote about pop culture for a magazine

Amy, I'd say. Her parts definitely came out stronger, bringing out her sinister, dark and twisted character perfectly.

Definitely think it was Amy. I was going to stop reading the book at first because I couldn't stand her but when I knew it was all an act, I was hooked.

Probably Amy. I remember when I found out the truth about her I was so shocked and I didn't see it coming.
