Stay out of the Basement Goosebumps #2 review

Post by RipleyAnne4 »

This was a rereading of a book from my childhood. I started reading the Goosebumps series when I was around 10 years old and I was hooked from the very first book. With that said, this book was one of my favorites as a kid. Upon reading it a second time around I wasn't nearly as impressed. I am an adult now and I noticed the writing is cheesy and the wording is definitely for children. The ending was predictable, and I don't even remember it from my first run through of it. But it still stands as a good children's book. I've saved them for my son to read when he comes of age.
In this installment we meet a kid who's dad is a scientist in the field of botany. He's made some great discoveries with his plants in his basement. But when things about his dad start changing he has to go downstairs to figure out what's going on...

I loved the twist ending. Didn't make me scared of basements, but I would be watchful.

What made me read this book was the goosebumps movie. Lol. The writing style was amazing and the sudden change at the end was absolutely great. I would definitely read this again
