Review of St Sebastian, Jack & The Silver Lining
This book for children was written by Milly K. Reynolds and titled St Sebastian, Jack & the Silver Lining. The author of this beautiful book leaves the reader with a meaningful message. The story revolves around an old man who is constantly made fun of by others due to his peculiar beard. In addition to that, he had a chubby rat that took great pleasure in perching on the dots of his beard.
The illustrations had a lot of character and were entertaining to look at. In my opinion, they will be enjoyable for children to watch and captivate them. In addition, the author rhymed the sentences so that the child would enjoy reading them and so that the child would continue to pay attention to the story. Additionally, themes of friendship, encouragement, and bullying are displayed in the book.
Despite the fact that the illustrations look like something I haven't seen in decades, I still found them to be very enjoyable, and they brought back memories of when I was a kid. The book's overall message resonated with me. This is a book that I believe can teach a child about true friendship and why it is important to stick by their friends even when they are feeling down or are being teased.
There was nothing about it that I did not like.
I give this book a perfect score of 5 out of 5 stars because I found both the illustrations and the rhymes to be very enjoyable. I also liked the positive message it sent out as well as the fact that the rat was encouraging and supportive of his friend. I found no mistakes, which makes me believe the book was flawlessly edited. Since I did not locate any errors, I can only conclude that the book was edited to perfection.
Children who are passionate about music and who recognise that they may have some qualities that set them apart from other kids will definitely connect with this book.
