Zed is a friendly character who accompanies our young readers on a fun journey among animals. He works as a ZooLman — which means he works in a zoo with special animals. Along with Zed, young readers will meet an owl, a toucan, an opossum, twin alligators, and many other animals, but why are they so special? This question is easy to answer because they all have creativity and ingenuity and are great helpers with valuable abilities. Meet these new friends in Eric J. Martin's book, Meet the ZooLs: From the Adventures of Zed and the ZooLs.

I love animals, so as soon as I read the title of Meet the ZooLs, I knew I would like this book. I think our young readers will also like it because the author makes them discover many animals with incredible skills. They often introduce themselves personally and reveal their characteristics to us in a fun way. I especially liked that the sawfish shark (named Sonia) helped Zed cut a piece of wood with her rostrum.

The images are beautiful, and since this is a large format book, it is possible to appreciate them as they deserve. This is another quality of this book, and I have to say that I found it so well written and illustrated that I liked everything about it.

Meet the ZooLs is also very well edited, and this is another positive aspect of this book.

It is with great pleasure that I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars. The animals are smart and adorable, the images are splendid, and young readers will enjoy this adventure with the ZooL. This is one of the best children's books I have ever read, and I recommend it to all children who love animals and want to get to know them even better.
