Cletus and Charley's Journey to the Sargasso Sea by Lindalouise is a children's book that includes a story about sea life. Cletus and Charley, who are newly hatched turtles, had to race to the ocean in hopes of not getting eaten by hungry seaguls, but luckily, Cletus was saved by Oceana and Leonardo after a close encounter with a seagul. As soon as Cletus and Charley were safe and sound in the sea, they set off on an adventure to find the Sargasso Sea, and who knows? Maybe they will make friends along the way or find out about the dangers of the sea.

This book is about sea life and can teach a young reader about many things in the ocean. Especially what is dangerous for certain sea creatures. While the writing is easy to grasp, at times it might not captivate the reader as much as the author might hope. The book also includes themes such as friendship and being helpful to each other, as well as interesting facts about sea life.

I struggled to get pulled into the story due to the author summarising most of the story in between the dialogue in an interrupting way. Unfortunately, this is a preference I have when it comes to reading books. Due to the part of the story where the author summarises Cletus' experience with Oceana and Leonardo, I did not feel any connection towards them. This also made the flow of the book not very smooth due to the author switching between summary and dialogue throughout the book at inconvenient times.

I liked that the author slipped in fun facts for the children to learn about sea life. I absolutely loved the adorable illustrations. I also quite enjoyed the ending, and it concluded perfectly.

I rate this book 2 out of 5 stars because I had to deduct a point for the many typing errors when it came to dialogue and quotation marks. I found that made the book difficult to read, and I sometimes have to reread the parts missing the quotation marks. It also felt like the book was not edited due to this. I also deducted two more points due to the book not capturing my attention because of how it was written, and the flow of the pacing was also affected. All of the issues mentioned can be fixed by getting the book professionally edited, and I would have honestly given it a full rating if the issues had been addressed. I did enjoy the story and loved how the author perfectly included the facts about sea life.

If the issues were addressed, I would definitely recommend this book to children between the ages of 6 and 12 due to its adventurous story and the educational properties within.

Children often like to read stories that have animals as characters. I am sure they will appreciate this story of the newly hatched turtles and their adventure.

The review provides helpful feedback, highlighting the book's strengths with its educational value and adorable illustrations. However, mentioned issues with the writing style, lack of smooth flow, and typos may deter readers. It is not sufficient to fully persuade someone to purchase, and improvements in editing are required. Overall, from the reviewer's perspective, the book may not be a strong addition to one's library.

Based on the review, "Share Cletus and Charley's Journey to the Sargasso Sea" by Lindalouise seems to have some drawbacks. The writing style, which includes interruptions of summary between dialogues, may not captivate readers. Additionally, the numerous typing errors and lack of professional editing, particularly in the dialogue sections, make the book difficult to read. However, the inclusion of educational facts about sea life and the adorable illustrations are notable positives. Overall, it appears that with professional editing and attention to dialogue formatting, this book could be a good choice for children aged 6 to 12 who enjoy adventurous stories with educational components.
