It was wonderful reading how the Millers always had fun as family, and I loved seeing what unique bond and love they had for each other.

I love the plot of this book, as it centers on Donny and Mary Grace and Donny's gradual acceptance by Jason, who normally bullies him because he has Down syndrome. It would be a wonderful book to read.

I agree. It was dealt with gently and genuinely. Such behaviour does not come show up without a reason. Once that is identified, the world will be a better place:)

I'm already done reading this book. I can relate to Mary Grace when she leaves her beloved Wichita, Kansas City, and her friends. I love the idea of writing about things you like. I agree with your idea about the way the author handles the bully in the story.

How MG dealt with the bully was the best part. There was 1 teacher who used this shoebox idea in our class asking us to freely share whatever we wished to. I was reminded of her after reading this book.

I am currently reading this book, and I especially love the bond between Mary Grace and Donny. The book also is a light-hearted read that carries many life lessons for children. Great review.

True. It carries lessons for parents too. Spending some quality time and bonding with kids is as essential as food clothing and shelter. Also parents behaviour should be appropriate as children take cues from elders and think it is ok to behave a certain way or speak certain words.
