This review shows that Freddy Finds a Friend is more than just a children’s book. It teaches kids about kindness, bullying, and seeing others for who they are. I like that Freddy’s disability is handled with care and that he finds support from characters like Phyllis and his parents. The use of limericks and poetic language also makes it fun to read. Sounds like a great book for both learning and enjoyment.

Definitely not my cup of tea and not only because of the age group, but mostly due to my dislike of the circumstances described. The story sounds very similar to "The Ugly Duckling" and while I understand that such literature is a perfect way to teach kids acceptance and tolerance, I prefer to skip.

Thanks for the great review! I found that this adorable children's book was quite interesting. The graphics were spot on, and I like children's books that rhyme. I think little children like that the best.

Imagine in a world where Freddy had to undergo humiliation because of a condition him self didn't create. Most times society had to make things worst which is why I found this story to be one of the most beautiful story that I'll recommend to people of all ages to read. The entire story embodies real life cases, where people are stigmatize just because of the way they are born.
I truly appreciate the reviewer, BOD and the Author for raising the awareness of the society about issues that may have stolen the happiness and life of many people who are innocent about their disabilities.

“Freddy Finds a Friend” is such a delightful read for BOTD! It’s heartwarming, simple, and beautifully teaches the value of friendship and kindness. The illustrations are so colorful and engaging .Perfect for keeping little ones interested. My favorite part was seeing Freddy grows braver as he made a new friend.
Freddy Finds a Friend left me feeling both tender and inspired. Freddy is not your typical fly he was born disabled which already sets him apart in a world that values sameness. What touched me deeply was how the story gently explores what it means to be different, to be mocked for it, and yet to still hold onto hope for something as simple and pure as true friendship.
Despite the ridicule, Freddy’s longing isn’t to be like everyone else, it’s to belong, to be accepted. I love how the story also showcases his parents’ effort and love, especially his dad’s invention — a symbol of support, belief, and creativity. Freddy doesn’t give up. He leads, he dares, and in the end , he finds the kind of friend he always dreamed of — one who sees beyond what others see.

It’s clear that Freddy Finds a Friend is more than a children’s book, it’s a reminder to readers of all ages that courage, kindness, and loyalty matter more than any wings ever could.
It’s a lovely book with a gentle lesson, and I think every child should have it on their shelf!

I am really curious as to why the "fly" was chosen as the animal of choice in "Freddy Finds a Friend" by Charles W. Page MD. Flies are usually despised mainly because of the buzzing sound they make, so I wish to know why it was chosen for this book. Congratulations on BOTD.

Thank you for a nice review. It seems like an amazing children's book. I love the message in this book. The topic of disability and acceptance is also important to teach at an early age. I wonder why the author chose a fly as the main character. I mean, flies are often associated with dirty pests. I don't want to be called a bad guy for using sticky fly traps around my house. Also, the illustration of Freddy doesn't look like a fly. I'm just saying.

The premise of having a disabled fly overcome his adversity and pass through meaningful growth with the help of his friends, sounds really interesting. I believe the underlying themes in this novel is a very powerful one.

'Official Review: Freddy Finds a Friend' by Charles W. Page takes a brief look at the poetic device the author uses for expression. It offers a glimpse into the world of Freddy, the fly, who is disabled. Fred wants to find a friend who is helpful and kind. His mum, dad, and Phyllis the spider help him encounter the cruel world. Freddy's condition reflects life's realities: its beauties and its imperfections. It was great to learn that the story is interesting, well-illustrated, and laced with practical life lessons!

I have read a preview and review of "Freddy Finds a Friend" by Charles W. Page MD. In the review it's mentioned that Freddy's condition draws parallels with disabled (specially abled) children's current condition in society. The subject of the book sinks deep in the heart due to the very effective use of words and the portrayal of specially abled children's life strife in an allegorical way.

I love how the story shows that being different doesn’t mean you don’t deserve kindness or friends. It’s a wonderful way to teach kids empathy and acceptance. A great read for both kids and parents. Congrats on BOTD!
