Thanks for your review! Most books about the first day of school focus on the child or parents' anxiety about going to school. It's novel to see the child concerned about her mother's well being. The pictures seem eye catching and appropriate. I wonder how the mothers enjoy the daycare.

Thissounds like a great book for children, with lovely illustrations as well. However, my daughter has grown up and I will leave her with the problem of reading to her children, so this book is not for me. Your review was very thorough and I can see that you obviously enjoyed this book.

It sounds like an interesting story. Nene is quite advanced her age if she's already worrying about leaving her mom alone. If Mom's Daycare actually exists, it might become a profitable business. Thank you for the recommendation!

I love the way the little girl thinks about her mother. The illustrations are sure to capture children's attention and the story sounds fun and entertaining.

The idea of a daycare for moms is so endearing. I am sure the PTA will vote for it. Really glad to have a free copy of the book.

A well-formatted children's book told from Nene's perspective as she gets ready for kindergarten. I read the book and enjoyed it! It is a cute story, and I agree with you on the eye-catching, colorful illustrations! Fans of children's books should give it a try! Thank you for the detailed review!

What a great review! Thank you for the wonderful review on such a cute color football. Every mother knows what it’s like for a child’s first day at school and unless you are yes I know what it’s like your first day coming home to an empty house. This book seems so precious thanks for the great review! :)

This sounds like a really sweet book! That Nene worried about what her mom would do all day without her is adorable. I enjoyed your review. Sounds like the book tells a good story and also teaches children how to care for their parents.

I surmise that she didn't write about the father because the all concept was to suit the title. Good review thanks.

This story sounds amazing. Told from the child's perspective, it is a unique way to address the first day of kindergarten. As a parent, I remember that day like it was yesterday for both of my children. What a great book to read to a youngster!

On the surface, the idea is cute. But, if we go a little deeper, isn't it interesting that instead of family members looking after one another we immediately look to institutions? Call me a little old fashioned, or a lot as the case may be, there is a case to be made for women to care for and teach their own children, rather than daycare or public schools. I like that Nene wants to care for her mother, but she wants to put her in daycare rather than care for her herself? For those that think this is a non-issue, a publicly run, subsidized nursing home may be in your future where you will enjoy the tender mercies of paid bureaucrats and overworked minimum wage employees instead of being a valued and loved member of the family. I also quail at the idea that Mom's daycare sounds very much like a spa/resort. Children's daycare is anything but. Mom can leave and go home if she wants. Just a thought. I enjoyed reading the review. Thanks!

This was a really great review! I love the idea of a mama's daycare and Nene imagining what her mother does each day from her perspective. I think this would be a wonderful book for children to read, especially those just about to start kindergarten. I'm pretty sure that moms would love a mama's daycare with massages! I read the sample of this book and the illustrations were gorgeous, just like you mentioned. They were so vibrant and full of colour that I'm sure children would love it.
