It's great to see a book that encourages children to embrace their uniqueness and think positively. The simple, repetitive structure seems perfect for young readers and for sparking meaningful discussions with parents.

I love children's books with a message. I like your suggestion that they read this before bed so they can 'sleep on' what they've learned—genius!

Lovely review! I appreciate your choice of books, they're usually all intriguing and quite unique. This book too sounds like an educational read for young children. We must teach our children to embrace their own uniqueness and respect other's individuality. Only then the society will be harmonious. Thank you.

Anything that encourages kids to become lifelong readers gets an “A” in my book and literature with such an important message will surely give them the impression that reading is very pleasurable. The illustrations and one-on-one time with parents will associate reading with good feelings. Thanks!

This is a beautiful children's book that helps children to build self confidence at an early age. It helps children identify their uniqueness so that they can do things differently instead of trying to copy other people. One thing I like about this book is that it provides clear vivid pictures to help the kids understand scenes more precisely. Children can learn fast and grow up with boldness. Thanks very much for your excellent review.

Do you want your children to feel that they are special and unique? Is it possible to counter negative thoughts by encouraging children to think positively? Do you think a child needs to know that “It’s great just to be you”? If you answered yes to these questions, you should get the book There’s Only One You by Shirley Schulze.

This storybook can be read in under two minutes. You will have time to pause with your child to discuss the significance of what was read. The book is 20 pages in length. It is divided into ten sets of 2 pages. Each set starts with "There’s only one you." This is followed by another 2 or 3 phrases elaborating on the importance that there is only one you. For example, one set of pages has these phrases: There’s only one you. You’re a special find. You were put in this world to be one of a kind.

This storybook gives children the message that it is good to be different from everyone else.

The book has colorful illustrations designed by Anna Cassata. They have a water-paint look that children will be familiar with. The illustrations depict the planet Earth, a newborn baby, a schoolyard, an amusement park, a playground, a birthday party, a children’s playroom, a crowd of children, a beach by the ocean, a ski hill, children doing individual activities, and a baby nursery. In each picture, there are children of diverse races, different heights, and abilities. In one picture, a child is talking to a friend who is sitting in a wheelchair.

A child will finish reading this story with the idea that they are unique and important. This crucial message must be given to children as often as possible, so why not read this book before they go to sleep? They will fall asleep with the knowledge that they can love who they are. They will wake up knowing that what they have to offer the world is unique and valued.

This book was concise and easy to read. I enjoyed this book. I am certain that children and their parents will enjoy it also. A six-year-old child will be able to read this book. I did not find anything to dislike about this book. I gave it 5 out of 5 stars.

This seems like a wonderful children's book and a great way to get younger children to start reading. It's always a good sign when a children's book has wonderful illustrations. I'll be sure to keep this book in mind. Thank you so much for the informative and detailed review!

As a parent, I definitely want to encourage my child to be himself and to help him know how loved he is. This sounds like a great book!

Funny how a tiny 20 page book could be so powerful and life- changing !! Wish this book existed when I was a child. I'm glad this book is short and concise that any child who can read can pick it up in moments of despair. Also, it's an excellent bedtime story that will end in a thousand kisses and cuddles.
Thankyou for the review, Gerry!

This children's book sounds lovely. It has a great message. Thank you for the sample verse, Gerry--I love it when they rhyme because I enjoy turning certain rhyming books into songs for my granddaughters on the piano. They get a kick out of that! I will check this out as a possible addition to their library. :techie-reference:

In a world where children quickly become attached to media and detachment is encouraged from a young age as people immerse themselves in their gadgets, it's easy to lose oneself and be influenced by the often unrealistic portrayals seen online. People present a curated image, leading to unrealistic expectations. Even parents sometimes follow online trends instead of allowing their kids to simply be kids. This book is a breath of fresh air, teaching children the importance of being different and embracing their unique selves. It encourages them to celebrate their individuality and enjoy the simplicity of childhood.
This is an insightful review and captures the essence of the book, great job as always. :tiphat:
