A typical fairy tale children's book that revolves around a tough and strong female protagonist, a charming prince, an evil witch, a wicked queen, and many more sounds intriguing. I will definitely read this one. Thanks for a well-written review.

"Nadira" by Alexandra Lane - the writing is quite formal for a fairy tale but grips your imagination and you want to read more. Thanks for the review.

I love the fairy tale aspect of the story. The fact that the damsel is never in distress and doesn't have to be saved is what makes this the perfect story for my granddaughters to read.

I liked the detail about the encouraging father that you mention in the first paragraph. Encouraging parents lead to secure and strong personalities in their children. And I guess that's one way to describe Nadira.
Thank you for the review!

This book sounds like a fun fairytale type story with a strong female protagonist. Sometimes it’s fun to read a book that has an old fashioned story with witches and the lead hoping for her happily ever after with her prince. It sounds like a good one to try.

I like that fairy tales have now become more egalitarian and feature strong female leads. When I was growing up in the 1990s and early 2000s, it was all about the damsel in distress and living happily ever after. I am glad to see that in times such as these this mentality is changing to provide young children with more outlets for self expression and possibilities.

Thanks for the review. I find reading children's and family's book very interesting. I am keen to know how Nadira's parents handled the situation. I know I will surely enjoy the book.

Stories with strong female protagonists are right up my alley. I’m intrigued by how this modern fairy tale is crafted. Thanks for sharing.
