It is very important to instill that self-confidence in a child which reminds them that they're one of a kind and no matter what, they matter. Your review clearly depicts this book as a great tool in working towards this, and I love that the author thought to write such a powerful book. I think every parent should have book a like this.

Many children and adults need to be told this truth: they are unique. The illustrations, diversity of characters, and explanations signal a book that I would share with parents, educators, and anyone involved with children. Lovely review, Gerry! Kudos to the author!

This is a great review about a book that can do a significant change in the children. The kids nowadays are exposed to a lot of negativity and focuses more on fitting in due to the social media influences. This book could be a step in making them have good self esteem and self confidence from an early age.

Do you want your children to feel that they are special and unique? Is it possible to counter negative thoughts by encouraging children to think positively? Do you think a child needs to know that “It’s great just to be you”? If you answered yes to these questions, you should get the book There’s Only One You by Shirley Schulze.

This storybook can be read in under two minutes. You will have time to pause with your child to discuss the significance of what was read. The book is 20 pages in length. It is divided into ten sets of 2 pages. Each set starts with "There’s only one you." This is followed by another 2 or 3 phrases elaborating on the importance that there is only one you. For example, one set of pages has these phrases: There’s only one you. You’re a special find. You were put in this world to be one of a kind.

This storybook gives children the message that it is good to be different from everyone else.

The book has colorful illustrations designed by Anna Cassata. They have a water-paint look that children will be familiar with. The illustrations depict the planet Earth, a newborn baby, a schoolyard, an amusement park, a playground, a birthday party, a children’s playroom, a crowd of children, a beach by the ocean, a ski hill, children doing individual activities, and a baby nursery. In each picture, there are children of diverse races, different heights, and abilities. In one picture, a child is talking to a friend who is sitting in a wheelchair.

A child will finish reading this story with the idea that they are unique and important. This crucial message must be given to children as often as possible, so why not read this book before they go to sleep? They will fall asleep with the knowledge that they can love who they are. They will wake up knowing that what they have to offer the world is unique and valued.

This book was concise and easy to read. I enjoyed this book. I am certain that children and their parents will enjoy it also. A six-year-old child will be able to read this book. I did not find anything to dislike about this book. I gave it 5 out of 5 stars.

This sounds like a great read for my daughter! She has a medical condition, and may face adversity as she grows older in age. It is important that she understands that she is special, fully loved, and beautiful. I'll keep an eye out for this book in the review options! Thank you for sharing, Gerry.
I am an avid reader. I typically read 1-2 books per week. I enjoy a wide array of genres including Sci Fi, Action/Thriller, and Historical Fiction.

As a geologist and christian, I also particularly enjoy books on science and faith.

The message of this book is undeniably heartening. To instill such affirmations in the tender years is like arming them with a shield against the world's judgments. Thanks for the review, Gerry!

Thank you for this review. This is definitely the type of book I would choose. I like reading children's books because they always try to encourage good values in children and show a good way of acting and thinking. The fact that it is a quick book allows it to be read repeatedly and that seems great to me.

Peer pressure and social media have become more of a problem for kids these days, given the times they live in. This is a fantastic topic that the author has chosen to assist in instilling self-assurance and acceptance. A straightforward, informative, and beautiful review that focuses on the core subject matter of the book! Regards.
