I agree that knowing what is happening in one's environment enables them to comprehend any sudden changes and know how to respond to the changes. Great review.

It's great that the book is teaching kids about how thunder and lightning works with the aim to help to help them overcome their fear. I wish I had something like this when I was younger, and it's great that it has beautiful illustrations to keep children engaged!

This is a very interesting premise for a children's book. Twisting something scary and making it a teachable moment. Good job with the review.

Thank you for your review! I like the explanation that thunder is the angels bowling. LOL My kids and I joke that the gods are brawling. Like you said, though, these are silly explanations. I really like the idea of a book that provides scientific explanations on a level for a young child to understand.

This sounds interesting. I do like the idea that he's honest about thunder and lightning, but I have to admit that I was told the same thing about the angels bowling in heaven. It always gave me peace of mind when there was thunder and really helped me outgrow my fear of it, so I think there's validity to both sides of it.

I always gave my kids scientific explanations instead of fantastical ones. I think it helps them more when they know they are not being babied. Sounds like a great book!

It is good to know the author wrote the truth about thunder and lightening in a language children can understand! It is ok to make up stories in books for kids, but when it is something that is real they need the truth! Thanks for the great review!

I wish I had had this book about 10 years ago. My son was scared of storms until after he had already started school. Your review was wonderful and it is so nice that the author gave simple facts about thunder and lightning. I'm also glad that it is about supporting parents. Thank you for explaining it all to us.

Today's BOTD is a children's book that explains the science behind thunder and lightning. In addition to expanding their knowledge, the easy-to-understand explanations and calming illustrations will help kids feel more at ease during a storm, especially at bedtime. Thank you so much for the great review! Bravo!

This sounds like a great book for an interactive story telling sessions with children. I was always afraid of lightning and thunder as a child and I still am. I think I am going to learn some things from this book myself. Congratulations BOTD!

What I liked best about this book is its intelligent description of thunder and lightning. It doesn’t make up a fantasy story to explain these features of nature. When I was a child, I was told rain was angels’ tears, and thunder was the sound of angels bowling in heaven. This book doesn’t concoct a silly story like that. In just twelve pages, it tells the truth about thunder and lightning using simple scientific terms. Children are smart. I believe when they understand what is happening during a storm, they feel more in control of their environment and will be more at ease.
Awww, that's an adorable explanation. But I get your point. Kids are smarter than we think, and once they understand this is a natural phenomenon, the fear might be gone.
Thank you for a concise and well-written review!

This looks like an adventurous book for children. Lightening and thunder are the most frightening things children and seeing the author address the truth on how it is interesting.
Great review.
