I read the first two books in the series a few years back and own all the movies, which I love. At the ripe old age of 62 I am now rereading the entire series and enjoying them immensely. I know this will be a series I read again and again. I am also re-watching each movie as I complete the corresponding book and it makes the movie so much more enjoyable!

Where do I even start? I can honestly say that I do not remember my life before or without Harry Potter. This enchanting series is something I can always come back when I'm in a "reading slump", or if I just want to reread a really great book! Some may say that Harry Potter is just a children's series, but it is so much more than that. For me, HP defines my generation. All of my friends and I grew up knowing who Harry, Ron, and Hermione are. Of course I was thrilled when Cursed Child came out (and I went to the midnight release)!
As we all know, this is the story of an orphaned boy, sent to live with his terribly cruel aunt and uncle, who finds out he's a wizard. He leaves the muggle world and learns lessons about friendship, and bravery, that we can keep with us for the rest of our lives.
These books full of adventure, love, friendship, and magic, are the perfect choice no matter what your age! 5 out of 5 stars, for the boy who lived!

Aloha,

There is no doub of what she has done. I will always love the originals.I do not like the author any more. With her lastest book, it from the play. Hermione was cast as a black girl in the play. I am a mix GOP gal. It not about race.

It is about the lie Rowling did. She stated there was nothing specific in the book about the race of Hermione. Many folks showed the proof from her own book, which stated "Hermione white face." The author then came up with crap. That does not mean she have a white face.

Despite all the money she made from Harry Porter, she still greedy. She is about the money, not her books. If money was not her concern, she would have stood up. All she did was being concered with beng polotical correct, and the money.

Stephen King took a huge pay decrease when he switched publishers. Why? He does not want his readers to be overpaying for books.

The author who created the James Bond series. Certain folks want a black James Bond. Again, it not race. It going by the books, and characters we bonded with. This author refused to have this change. He stated he wants it by the book series. Sadly, him standing up has cost him. Someone stated that if you write just for money and fame, how can you call yourself a writer?

Blessings
?

PS I am on my Apple I Phone. I do not see the spell check. Yes, I could have copy and paste. It not hard to process on the IPhone to do that. I am guilty of liking it went certain things are easier for submission. I do not mean be rude.

Working in an elementary school library this series is always a well requested one. I have kids as young as 2nd grade checking the books out, undaunted by their very large size. I tell my kids at school that I've read the series at least 3 times through. I talked to one kid who was watching each movie after she finished the book, which I thought was a wonderful idea. I think at this point it has earned it place in classic literature for children; I was only 12 when the first books came out! Over 12 years later they are still just as loved by kids and adults!

I was working at a small local book store when the fifth book was released! We had boxes of them in the back and I snuck back there after we closed to get a head start before they were officially on sale the next day. I hope one day that my daighter loves the series as much as I do!

What did I like about Harry Potter? The sheer fantasy of it. The made up names new unheard of games and their rules.
It shows the authors sheer imagination. Simply mind blowing! The whole time I was reading it ....I kept saying ....how did she do it?

Although these books started out as children's books they became lengthier and darker as they progressed. I think that our library switched them to the Young adult section. I was an adult when they came out, but read them each and anxiously awaited the next. I recently read the script for the new play and loved it. I can't wait for "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" to be released for American community theatre productions. In the meantime if you can get past reading a script instead of a novel, get the book. It picks up 20 years later and follows the newest batch of Hogwarts students. ( Potter, the next generation).

I agree that J. K. Rowling gave an amazing gift, not only to young readers but to the world itself. I remember going to the first movie with my friends. I hadn't read the book then, but later I was gifted the first two by a friend. It was wonderful! I had read fantasy books before but this was totally different. I believe that Rowling revolutionized literature by creating a syllabus for magic. She definitely set the standards high for future authors! After I read how she came about writing the series, my respect for her increased. She not only brought forth incredible books, but gave a fantastic life to so many actors as well! I'm sure that there are millions of people who thank her now. I was always a voracious reader and Rowling gave a new turn of genre: a combination of school life, mystery, fantasy, friendship and much more! Sometimes, it's hard to fit her writing in just one category. There are a lot of things I learned from her!

This is a series I believe I can enjoy reading even in old age. Jo has truly created a wonderful world. To have created such a detailed imagined world and present it in a believable and engaging way is amazing. Where's my Hogwarts letter, Jo?

I remember when I got Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone I went home, immediately started reading it, and didn't stop until I had read the whole series twice. Ahh memories.

Harry Potter is considered classic literature because it changed the the literary world for the better. Before children had stopped reading. Older children had found reading tedious and only did it for school purposes. No one did out of interest or recreational purposes. Harry Potter came out and it was something new and exciting. Children everywhere wanted to read it...they wanted to read again! That is why Harry Potter is an important classic literature. It got the children of the world interested in reading again.

This series is probably one of the best out there. I know it's meant for children, but I can't help but love it even now. Everything about her made-up world came together perfectly.

I wish there were more series with the consistent, high level of quality of Harry's tale - his growth, trasnformation, and world building are fantastic to read through, and its one of the few series that goes for a while but still maintains a decent amount of quality and consistency.
