This book focused on very crucial topic. The death of grandparents. It is one of the earliest grief in childhood. It is very upsetting for children. Because in childhood grandparents have strong connection with children and grandparents are their support system. When they loose their grandparents that time they are not matured enough to understand what is dead and they wait for them to come back. This book shows how to deal with loss among children which is infrequent.

I also found the relationship between the boy and grandfather quite sweet and heartwarming. I like that the book delivers the message clearly and in simple terms for kids, ensuring not to overload little minds with more information than necessary.

What a wonderful book. Learning to deal with grief can be hard at any age but as a child with possibly no guidance this can be a sad and confusing time. Well done to the author on delivering an important and useful resource for parents/ guardians and of course the children faced with the trauma of loss.

I agree with the reviewer, the cover doesn't give away that it is about grief. I was rather surprised when reading the review. The topic of grief, losing a loved one, is a difficult one to tackle and good that books exist to help addressing this topic.

"The Mirror Box" by Wade Warren Bergner is a book in which the boy Christopher appears with his grandfather and a mirrored box. The deceased grandfather left the box to the boy and forbade him to open it, which made it mysterious. The book talks about family relationships, but also about how children can overcome grief for a deceased grandfather.

Children’s grief sometimes goes unnoticed. As adults, we may think that they do not understand the concept of death clearly ne therefore, they may not be in pain. But sometimes, they do not express. I think this book is helpful to kids to deal with grief. I wonder what Christopher’s grandfather left for him?

Dealing with the loss of a loved one is always a painful journey. In 'The Mirror Box,' children are presented with how to deal with grief, because at one point or another, we'll always lose our loved ones, and if we are taught about this early in our childhood, perhaps we are better equipped to face it when the time calls for it.

Papa and his grandson enjoy being together and doing things together. How will Papa's grandson deal with the loss of his grandfather? A beautifully illustrated and wonderfully written story.
