This is a lovely children's story with a rather attractive, eye-catching cover. It's about a fly with a disability, yet because of this, she suffers from teasing and is called ugly nicknames by her classmates. This book contains several lessons, primarily those about tolerance and respect. These types of books encourage children to creatively understand that others should be treated with respect regardless of their condition, race, or creed.

Freddy Finds a Friend is a truly wonderful children’s book. Its playful rhymes, silly humor, and heartwarming message make it both fun and meaningful. It gently teaches kids about confidence, kindness, and never giving up—perfect for young readers learning to believe in themselves.

I want to read "Freddy Finds a Friend" by Charles W. Page MD because Freddy’s story feels real and shows what it’s like to be different while still hoping for true friendship.

I don't think I'm going to be able to look at flies the same way again. What a fantastic way to teach children on self-confidence, acceptance and friendship.

"Freddy Finds a Friend" by Charles W. Page MD is a wonderful children’s story about a fly named Freddy that is disabled since he was born with a wimpy nub instead of one of his wings. Other flies are very cruel and bully him by calling him awful names. While Freddy is sad that he was born this way he wants to find ways that other flies will accept him and find a friend who is trustworthy and thoughtful. This story is presented in limerick form, formatted into five lines. The rhyme scheme AABBA is consistent throughout the book and will make the reading of this book to my three great grandsons’ fun and exciting. The rhythm was maintained so the flow of the story will be constant and I believe they will learn several life-long lessons from this story. The author was intentional with his word choices. Some are reflective and take readers deep into Freddy’s condition and the cruelty of his fellow flies. Some are humorous like Freddy’s panic sounds during his encounter with Phyllis the spider. The attitudes of the other flies expose the cruelty of the world to the disabled. Most readers should recall when a U.S. president made fun of a mentally handicapped person and it was very cruel but he did not care and he continues to call people that disagree with him low IQ individuals. I thought the resourcefulness shown by Freddy’s father when he created a wing jacket for Freddy to wear was amazing. Freddy is lucky to have very supportive parents. I look forward to reading the entire book to my great grandsons.

Young Freddy was born without a wing and faces constant harassment. All he wants is to belong and have a friend who's true and kind. I read the sample, and I'm curious about his father's fly-jacket idea. The story has valuable lessons in trust, friendship, kindness, and more, and it will hopefully help children better understand people with disabilities. Congrats on BOTD!

I heard nothing but good things about this book. Children will get to see what it’s like for someone to live with a disability through Freddy’s experience. Congrats to the author for having the BOTD.

Freddy, the fly, is born with disabled wings. He wants kind friends and wants to be accepted for who he is. It's a wonderful children's book that teaches children practical lessons and teaches kids to be kind to one another. The author uses several poetic devices.
