The first strong point of the book mentioned in the review is the idea of "passing it forward". A great way to teach children generosity, especially that this is not an inborn feature of humanity.
I am not disturbed by "hungry" or the other slang word, I think children come across slang early enough and with much worse of it too.
Definitely, the good proofreading is a plus, I would say a prerequisite in children's books.
Thank you for the detailed review.

When I hear the term "paying it forward," it is usually in the monetary sense, such as paying for the person behind you in line at a drive-thru. This book emphasizes that kind actions have a ripple effect and, through paying it forward, we can impact more people than we realize. The cute animals and easy-to-follow language certainly help kids understand the lesson. Thanks for a comprehensive review!

This looks like a cute book. It is curious that "new friend" doesn't have a name--I know little ones will want to know it. I love the "pay it forward" message that it portrays.

Way out of my age group, so I really don't have nor use nor interest in children's books. To tell the truth - I don't even know how to judge them properly and as such I prefer to skip this one. Congrats on BOTD!

Getting children to read is always a plus, and teaching them some life lessons and compassion, at the same time is a plus. I am not sure why children's books are written in rhyming language, but that seems to be the norm. This sounds like a good series for children and I hope they become popular and loved as much as some of the classics. Thanks for a thorough review which was interesting to read.

This book honestly contains a great lesson which I feel everyone should learn from childhood. In our generation, I feel we need to learn to pay it forward. This should be learnt on time... This book is really suitable for children of that age bracket as you stated in your review. Nice review. Thanks.

Thank you for your great review. I love the pay it forward concept in a book for children. A wonderful way to teach children about helping others and doing good deeds. Since this is a rhyming book, it will attract the attention of the children as they are fascinated and intrigued by what is happening in the book. I do agree with your opinion of slang not being appropriate for young readers. I also agree with your assessment that this book is a great reading tool for teachers and parents. The children will love it.

I enjoy reading children's books; there are always great morals to learn from them. I also love the idea of "paying it forward"; children, adults, young, and old need to imbibe same. It will make the world better.

Your review was great as it usually is, but my take on the book was slightly different. Granted it was far superior to most children's books because it contained no vampires or werewolves. However, I had the feeling that it could have been "more". As if I had been promised a great meal and handed a hamburger stuck under a heat lamp all day. Somehow, I felt a bit let down. Like he had missed the mark.

And if you're wondering how old I am, I am 53 ... and a half.

and to open its to seals,
for You were slain and have redeemed us to God,
by your blood, out of every tribe and tongue and people and Nation." Rev. 5:9

An interesting children’s book "Dynomike: Pay It Forward" by Frankie B. Rabbi, which is about helping others without expecting anything in return. The lead character Dynomike helps his friend Spunky stop a banana cart from sliding downhill, and tells him to pass the favor to others who are in need. A great book for children.
life is only knowing the unknown, we can do this by reading books easily- Online book club is a great place for this. This is what I believe.
