Ha ha! I really had a great time reading Cat Detectives of the Korean Peninsula by R. F. Kristi. Sometimes it was like I was conversing with talking cats and dogs. What a wonderful creation! A detective story for kids with a twist. One that unites a divided family if not humanity itself.

I really liked the book. I know kids will love the story too. It is not the kind of book that is so childish, but can also be enjoyed by animal lovers of almost all ages. I really loved how the author developed the animal characters and made them beings in their own right.

Inca and Company, an organization of cats and dogs executing a very complex plan to unite loved ones by breaking through a border wall from South Korea to the North. This is so impressive. Especially how the whole plan was construed and how Inca, the Siberian Kitty detective and team leader, matched her friends’ characters and their roles.

The illustrations brought out the individuality of the characters and made the book even more engaging. I couldn’t help transferring my consciousness into a cat’s or a dog’s body in my mind so that I could see how it feels to own a human. This made me laugh out loud.

I rate this book Cat Detectives of the Korean Peninsula by R. F. Kristi 4 out of 4 stars. This is because it is engaging, funny, and with tolerable mistakes . Having noticed that it is the eighth book in the Inca series made me want to read the other seven. There isn’t anything major that made the book lose its flavor or reduce the value of its contents. I have two children. I know after reading and reviewing this book, I am now going to have an enjoyable group reading session with them during the coming Easter holidays.

I have never thought how it feels for the cat to 'own' a human! I'm now curious how the cat detectives united a family across border walls. Great review!

I have also just finished reading this book and found it very engaging. I am quite sure the children will enjoy this book. I agree that the lively illustrations are probably the best thing about this series.

I've read many praising reviews of these books, so I'm sure you and your kids will have a great time. I'm glad you enjoyed it so much and being a cat lover myself I love the premise and I'm amazed that the author managed to capture the complex cat's personalities.
Thank you for your enthusiastic review!

Interactive books, like lift-the-flap or pop-up books, can be especially engaging for young readers.
