"What’s your Favorite Color?" by Amber L. Lassiter is a fun, interactive, educational and engaging book for young kids. Children will be drawn into the story with its lively colorful illustrations and descriptive words. As I flipped through the pages, I was pleasantly absorbed as its vivid and vibrant words swept me off to Mrs. Lassiter’s bright and cheery elementary classroom. Undoubtedly, children will have an exciting day in art class with their fun and witty teacher who has planned a surprise for everyone! They will fall in love with Amber’s spontaneity and discover, along with the rest of the class, what her favorite color is! Read through to the end and you will come across more surprises!

I really like the author’s approach to entertaining kids with this wonderfully educative story! I wasn’t surprised when I read in the author’s autobiography that Amber L. Lassiter was not only an elementary teacher, but a reading specialist, and a literacy coach. I thought it was clever how questions are asked throughout the story to make children reflect on word usage, teaching them to express gestures and feelings through them. For example, “Why did Amber’s brows knit in a frown?” or “What does the author mean by, ‘stood with stiff backs?’” Just to make it more enjoyable, there is a page that includes a few rhyming words and Amber shares a cute riddle.

There is absolutely nothing that I dislike about this book. I think it was very cleverly thought out. The author clearly knows how to capture children's attention and enrapture them in a story full of humor, suspense, and surprise. For this reason, I rate this magnificent book 4 out of 4 stars!

This book is professionally edited since I found it impeccable with no typing or grammatical errors.

I would recommend this book to all children from ages 6 to 8. This book, in specific, would be excellent for those children who need to enrich their creative writing skills as it will build their confidence, providing them with good content to begin their journey.
