Inca is the head of Inca and Company detective agency whose members include Fromage, Cara, Monk, Charlotte, Terrence, and Polo. They are a group of felines and puppies who live with Mom and Solo their owners. Mom has been selected to be a judge at The French Patisserie Competition organized by the famous French Cookery School called Le Cordon Bleu, which would be held in South Korea. She will also be launching her new Cheese as well.

Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula: The Diary of a Snoopy Cat is the eighth book in The Inca Cat Detective Series and it can be read as a stand-alone novel. Since Mom, as the Cats referred to her, is going to South Korea she has decided to take all the pets with her. The cats are very excited to be traveling to a new country to encounter new adventures. On the flight, they meet Enzo and with their animal instinct, they can tell that he is up to no good. Enzo has always been mom's competitor and as soon as he schemes to steal the cheese, Inca and his company take him down like the good detectives that they are. They prevail in their detective work working as a group and combining their various skills. This comes in very valuable in their stay at the Korean Peninsula.

The cat detectives work jointly to help their host Ye Jun, reunite with his sister who lives on the other side of the Korean peninsula. The story covers the pain of loved ones separated from each other by the peninsula which was established so as to create the North and South region. What I liked least about the story is that despite the people speaking the same language they now have to use passports and go through heavy security checks to see one another. This was a low moment for me while I was reading this book.

I found the book to be quite fascinating, the characters were very delightful given their distinct personalities and problem-solving skills. R.F. Kristi also ensured that the story wasn't just about an adventurous journey but also very educating. She includes a good description of various kinds of cats as well as other animals. There's also some history of the places where the characters visited. I would recommend this book to children as well as teenagers. The author included illustrations in the text which would really appeal to young children. The writing is simple and easy to understand.

I only found a few errors in the book and thus rate Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R.F. Kristi 4 out of 4 stars for the excellent editorial work and a very well written story. The cat detectives are fantastic and their adventures are fun.
