Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat by R.F. Kristi is an extremely entertaining book for children told from the point of view of Inca, a Siberian cat that operates a detective agency. Inca is on vacation with her human mom in Sri Lanka when a local museum is robbed, and a valuable saber is missing. She takes the initiative to begin an investigation with the assistance of her pet siblings and a detective dog named Terrance.

Inca describes herself as the Queen of Kitties and takes her position as leader of the group very seriously. Terrance has a human owner that is a private investigator. Terrance accompanies his owner on investigations and reports any new information to Inca. Fortunately, Inca and the rest of the group are also able to enjoy their vacation. They travel to the beach and other areas in Sri Lanka with their human mom. Inca provides vivid details about what they experience on their travels. The book also includes beautiful illustrations to add to the story.

I enjoyed reading this book. The story was well-written and entertaining for any age. I believe it would be immensely entertaining for children, especially with the illustrations that add to the story. The author provides a cast of characters at the start of the book that includes a drawing of the character and a short bio. This would assist children in following the story and is an easy reference while reading the book. The group becomes friends with two elephants and a turtle who work with them on their investigation. The introduction of these characters will teach children about the unique animals that live in Sri Lanka.

The dialogue between the characters is entertaining and interesting. The cat siblings have relationships comparable to relationships between human siblings. Their interactions can show children how to get along with their siblings and other children. Cooperation is emphasized repeatedly in the book. The animals work well together to achieve a common goal. Also, children can learn about other cultures because the cats are on vacation in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is described several times and there are discussions about how it differs from their home country. Children can benefit from discussions about different countries and cultures. I thought the author could have included more details about Sri Lanka because it would be interesting to learn more about its culture.

I would recommend this to anyone with children that are interested in a mystery or an educational story filled with adorable characters. I believe the book was professionally edited because I did not see any grammatical or typographical errors. This is an entertaining and enjoyable book and I give it a rating of 4 out of 4 stars.
