Is your kid being bullied? Does he hate brushing his teeth and washing his hands? Is he overweight and has bad eating habits? If yes, then you should buy your kid Froggies Short Stories by Joe Rami. This book is written to help children to give up their bad habits and replace them with good ones.

Patty Frog turns 8 and asks his father to buy him a phone. Daddy Frog refuses to fulfil this demand. Will Patty realize that his demand is inappropriate? Andrew Frog is being bullied at school for his effeminate behaviour. How will he cope with the bullies? Melanie Frog hates to brush her teeth. How will Mommy Frog persuade her to keep her teeth clean? Mikee Frog is overweight. Will he remain overweight for the rest of his life?

This book covers a variety of subjects, including sports, health, hygiene, self-esteem, and bullying. The best thing is that these subjects are discussed in an unambiguous way. Whether it is about health or self-esteem, the author sheds light on every topic in a way a kid can understand easily. The difficult concepts like the Heimlich manoeuvre are elaborated in a language so simple that a kid doesn't have to consult the dictionary to understand them.

The author has also used illustrations in this book, but they are only two, which I think are insufficient for a children's book. An illustration with every story can make this book more intriguing for children.

The thing I don't like about this book is that some stories are not persuasive in any way. These stories fail to give any compelling reason for children to give up their bad habits. For example, in the story named "Patty Frog Wants A Cell Phone," the author doesn't provide a satisfactory answer to why a young kid should not have a phone.

I give this book 3 out of 4 stars. The reason for this rating is the lack of persuasion in some stories. I am not giving it 2 stars because most of the stories have great moral lessons, and the errors are minimal. I would recommend this book to kids around 7-10 years because the problems discussed in this book are faced by the kids of this age.

This seems like a great premise for a book. The topics the author covers are important ones. It's just too bad that there aren't more illustrations. Plus, I wish that there were more solid reasons for giving up these behaviors. Thanks for the review.

This sounded like a really great book till you mentioned that the stories are actually not that persuasive. I read to kids a lot and, oh boy, do they have a million questions for every action a character takes! If I read this out to an eight-year-old they might hit me on the head with the book once I finish.
But I would read this to younger kids between 5-7 years of age. Even if they aren't convinced, I've noticed that some things just stick in their minds--which is why I'm very careful about the books I pick, and this one is not a bad choice.
Thanks for your wonderful review!

In today's society I applaud the author for trying to point out negative habits and ways to stop them. As much as the book had only two illustrations and less persuasive, I believe it's still a good book for young kids these days. Great review!
But the path I’ve chosen has always been the right one, and I wouldn’t have had it any other way. :)

Am sure the younger ones would like it and ask less troubling questions😀..and yeah the older ones can be difficult to handle sometimes when you can't give them satisfactory answers about the actions of some characters😀.

This sounds like a great educational resource for dealing with all sorts of issues. The lack of more illustrations is quite surprising and a bit of a letdown though. Thanks for the review!

Parents might appreciate this book. It would help them to open up a conversation about a sensitive subject (weight, phones, personal hygiene, etc.) I enjoyed your insights about how the author could improve some of the stories. Great job!
