Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat by R.F. Kristi belongs to the children’s books genre. It is the 7th standalone children’s book in the Diary of a Snoopy Cat series. This book is about a Siberian snoopy cat, Inca, and her little buddies or whom she calls Inca & company, her detective agency. On vacation with her mom, in Sri Lanka, Inca discovers a valuable, antique sword gets stolen from the city’s main museum. Their neighbor Solo and his dog Terrence are to join them to hunt for the sword. Will Inca decide to take on another adventure snooping around for the stolen sword? Will Inca & Company be able to set to rest another mystery and return home safely?

This book is a fun, enjoyable, and exciting read. The characters are so well-defined, I could visualize them talking to each other and discussing the mystery. The illustrations, too, are super cute. I couldn’t help but keep turning the pages to find out what happened. Kristi has done an excellent job of creating a great story plot to keep the young readers absorbed.

What I loved about the book was how multiple species of animals had been depicted as a cohesive team working towards a common goal. Kids will enjoy the unique chemistry between cats (Inca kisses Terence), a dog (who fondly licks a cat), a mouse, a turtle, and two elephants in this particular book. I also liked the fact that Kristi has explored the naturally snoopy character of a cat to write a book. It just all fits very well together. There was nothing I disliked.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars as this book is a valuable addition to children’s literature, and it is a professionally written and edited book. I only found one typo and one formatting error. This book is perfect for kids ages 7-12. Younger kids can also enjoy the book by asking their parents to read it out loud to them. This book could be a great first book for kids to begin their reading journey as the mystery, and the characters will keep them hooked and create an interest in reading they never knew existed. Happy reading!

A book of a team of animals who are detectives, it was so interesting. Reading how animals befriend each other really gave a smile on my face. Nice review.
