Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula: Diary of a Snoopy Cat by R.F. Kristi belongs to the Children’s books genre and is the 8th book in the Inca Cat Detective Series. R.F. Kristi is an avid lover of animals. She has written the Inca book series to promote children to respect and appreciate animals.

Inca and her cat friends, along with their mom, Missy, are invited to South Korea to judge a cooking competition. Their guide in South Korea, a kind man, grieves over the separation of his long-lost sister and her beloved cat, who lives in North Korea and is a chef participating in the contest. Will Inca and the company be able to unite the siblings and their beloved pets? Will Inca cross the dangerous borders for peace and harmony within a Korean family?

This book is an amusing, fun, and exciting read. The characters are so well-defined, I could visualize them talking to each other and discussing their secret plan, snooping on their owners, and all the time being snobbish about it. The illustrations are so expressive and adorable. A cat’s natural snoopy and snobby behavior has been explored well in the tale. I couldn’t help but keep turning the pages to find out what finally happened. Kristi has done a great job of creating an excellent story to keep the young readers absorbed.

I loved that Kristi also made the book educational and informative by listing and describing all the landmarks of South Korea in the form of a sightseeing tour. It made the book exciting and unique. The author did not leave anything to dislike in the book.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars as this book is a useful addition to children’s resources, and it is a professionally written and edited book. This book is perfect for kids aged between 7 and 12. Younger kids can also enjoy the book by asking their parents to read it out loud to them. Happy reading!
