Thank you for such a grand review. You showed us a very touching look inside this book that we were not able to see in the sample pages. I was saddened to see there were no actual pages to read. But your review help us to know we need to read the book.
Thank you!!

As the first kid to integrate into the white elementary school in Jasper, Texas, Martha's story is probably amazing!

This is a great book for kids. They can learn how it feels to be treated as the odd one and how bad it is to treat someone like that. It is good the author included how Martha felt and how she dealt with her problems. Thank you for the great review.

From a sampling, this is a very different children's book focusing on the first young African American girl to attend a white elementary school in Jasper, Texas. It might be worth a second look. Well done.

Wow what a great children novel. Martha must have undergone through a lot when she was in school but am glad the mother and her teacher paved way for her. She must have been bullied by the white students. Thanks for sharing and congrats on BOTD.

I commend the author for effectively communicating Martha's thoughts and emotions to the readers. Martha is indeed a brave girl and hero. Children can learn acceptance and tolerance from the story. Nice review.

Being the first black student in a previously white only school must be a challenge as well as thrilling. Many things to learn and more to overcome. I love to read this book to see what life was like for Martha. Thanks for the review.

The author has great wisdom to relate the story from the child Matha's mind and heart. It is advisable that this book be read with an adult to guide the young reader. Someone must appease a kid that bullying may be inevitable in most places. It must not create any phobia beacuse it only reflects the ill upbringing of the bully. Martha's wits was able to overcome the annoying few kids. With her mother's care and her teacher's encouragement Martha smartly stood above the resenting few kids.
A captivating review for a wholeheartedly written book.

It needs the courage to share the experiences of a black child in a predominantly white elementary school in Jasper Texas USA.
