Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula: Diary of a Snoopy Cat by RF Kristi is the 8th book from the Inca book series. Though the book has some references from the earlier books, it can still be read as a stand-alone book. It also has an illustration of Inca's family tree and an introduction to her detective company, Inca and Company. The lively illustrations in the book are made by Jorge Valle.

In the story, Siberian Kitty Inca's human mom has been invited to Seoul by a famous French cookery school to present her newly created cheese. Inca and her team leaves for South Korea with their mom. There these cats happen to become friends with a Korean Dog, Barman, whose owner was an interesting personality who yearned to be reunited with his sister living in North Korea. To unite the family within the Korean Peninsula, Inca decides to wear her detective's hat and sets off to the work. Will the cat family be able to fulfill their mission in a foreign country?

The book consists of a detailed yet interesting description of wildlife. It also has bits of history of the Korean Peninsula. The author has used the style of writing which would be quite easy to comprehend for young readers. The book gives out valuable lessons of unity and harmony through the animals who decide to bring peace in a divided country. The thing I liked the most in the book was the way the cats solve the whole matter. Their interesting logics were enjoyable to read.

The only problem with the book was its confusing plot. The story kept shifting its focus from tiger to painting to cheese and then finally to the divided family. Had it not been so confusing, the book would have been much more apt and short. Another problem was with the repeated sentences in the story that made it unnecessarily long. For example, in one paragraph it was written, 'Fromage loves cheese' and in the very next it was stated, 'Fromage has a real passion for cheese'.

Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula: Diary of a Snoopy Cat by R.F Kristi seemed professionally edited. I would like to award it four out of four stars. Despite the negatives, the book deserves this perfect rating for giving thorough enjoyment throughout the read. It could be an awesome bedtime story for kids and a self-musing novel for young adults who love animals and want to go through a light read.

Krist's ability to explain complex things to kids without it being ununderstandable is like none other.
