[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "Abby the Dog and Tigger the Cat" by P.L. (Patricia) Rainey.]
Do we need a friend? Does having friends make our lives easier? Do they have any impact on our lives? Abby the Dog and Tigger the Cat – A Story of Friendship by P. L. Rainey is a light-hearted children’s book that teaches us a lot about friendship.
The story is about a dog named Abby. She liked to eat, sleep, and play. Sometimes she used to play with cows, sometimes with squirrels, but sometimes she was just lonely. She also liked to run beside her master when he drove. One day, her master brought a small furry cat named Tigger. What does Abby think of Tigger? Do they end up becoming good friends? Read on to find the answers.
The book was fun to read. The book teaches us how much value a friend can add to our lives. The language is easy to understand. There are no challenging words that make the book suitable for children to read.
The book contains only 27 pages with illustrations on each page and the little text written over them. But sadly, the drawings were very miserable (only personal opinion, it can be different for others) and were messy as well. This is the only thing that I did not like about the book.
The book is exceptionally well-written and professionally edited. There were no typographical errors or grammatical mistakes. Also, I didn’t find any vulgar or profane words in the book.
As mentioned earlier, there was only one thing that I did not like about the book, and therefore, I will rate this book 3 out of 4 stars. This is the perfect book for kids which teaches some moral values of life, which is the most important thing. I would recommend this book to kids aged 4years to 10 years. Parents and teachers should also read this book to teach the fundamental aspects of life with the help of an intriguing story.
