Cat Detective in the Korean Peninsula by R.F. Kristi is an illustrated children's book about a cat detective agency. In the book, the cats follow their 'humanoid' mom to Korea to judge a cooking contest. Mom presents her favorite new cheese creation at a French patisserie competition organized by 'Le Cordon Bleu' in South Korea. It is an opportunity to travel to a country with warmer weather, so Inca and friends are super excited. The agency's task is to ensure that Enzo, a rival chef, does not steal Mom's cheese. They try to reunite a family divided along political lines in North and South Korea, end up having a fabulous adventure, and make new friends.

Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula is the second book in the Inca Detective Series that I am reading and reviewing. The first one was Diary of a Snoopy Cat. It was such a delightful read that I had no hesitation in selecting to read and review this book, and it did not disappoint. Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula provides many facts about North and South Korea that will inform children about the political issues in that region in an entertaining manner.

There is an underlying theme of tolerance and unifying events. The cooking competition in the story gave North and South Korean citizens an opportunity to put aside the things that divide them and interact in a friendly manner.

There were many interesting characters, and I learned a lot about Korea and a little about Korean culture. There is also an underlying theme of love, friendship, and family. Their tour guide Ye-Jun and his sister are separated by Korea's political tension but are unwilling to abandon their pets to be together. It is a story about loyalty, commitment, unity, and teamwork.

The book was captivating and intriguing to read, and I think children will thoroughly enjoy reading this book. I think this was an exceptionally well-edited book. I struggled to detect errors in this book, and I found only one. I recommend this book to children aged seven to 14 years. I think it is a useful addition to school and family libraries. I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because it was a captivating read.

R.F. Kristi has created something truly unique with 'Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula'. The combination of cats and a captivating mystery set in the Korean Peninsula is a stroke of genius. The author's attention to detail in both the cat behavior and the cultural aspects of Korea is impressive. I thoroughly enjoyed every page
