Milli wished to be a pretty mermaid and couldn't believe how beautiful she looked after her wish came true. In the sea, Sammi Seahorse showed Milli around and helped her stay away from danger.

Eventually, Milli discovers that life in the sea is not as perfect as she thought. There were some dangers in the sea, and she missed her friends. So Milli wanted to go back. According to Sammi Seahorse, she needs to find a pearl to make another wish that will send her back home. Will Milli be able to find the pearl and go back to being the girl she used to be? Only time will tell!

Milli Mermaid's PEARL OF WISDOM by Amelia Gleeson is a colorful children's book with very eye-catching illustrations. This book is the first title in the Milli's Musings series. The 20-page book seeks to instill good values into children through the morals it promotes. It teaches children to appreciate their uniqueness and be the best they can be. Thanks for the message, Ms. Gleeson.

I enjoyed the rhymes in the book. The author's ability to weave words into free-flowing rhymes is praiseworthy. An example of such is "Wiggle, Wiggle, Wiggle, QUICK Go! Flap your tail, flee your foe!" I love that. I believe children will enjoy and benefit more from the book if they read it aloud. Also, I like how the author introduced some words that would improve the vocabulary of children who read the book.

What I liked the most about the book is how appealing the author's illustrations are. Children will find it easy to identify Milli, Sammi Seahorse, and other animals therein. I am sure they would want their guardians to help them with the names of the sea creatures found in the book. Most of the images are hand-drawn, so I believe it will challenge the kids to try drawing them. I must commend the author for providing blank pages that readers can use to write or draw the things they like in the book. Isn't that generous?

Furthermore, this book's storyline is fascinating. Even as an adult, I found it intriguing. Children would easily relate to Milli and even fear for her safety as I did. The author deserves praise for being able to create an atmosphere of suspense in a 20-page book.

To conclude, there wasn't anything that I disliked about the colorful children's book. I also love that the book's editing is exceptional and without any errors. Therefore, I am glad to award Milli Mermaid's PEARL OF WISDOM 4 out of 4 stars. I am recommending it to children between the age of 3 and 9 and do not doubt that they will find it very fascinating.

The review above is a re-review of Milli Mermaid's PEARL OF WISDOM after I received an updated version of the book.

This story seems to promote the awakening of ”survival instincts” in us. Milli and Sammi have taught me a great lesson. I enjoyed your review.
