Mission Baby Tooth Book 2 is a children’s book by Carol Bates Hutchinson. This is the story of life in Tooth Fairy Town. It is told in a simple rhyming style and illustrated with cheerful sketches. If you ever wondered as a child what happened to the baby teeth left under your pillow, this book will give an idea of the way they might have been utilized by the tooth fairies. I always looked forward to getting a quarter under my pillow after losing a baby tooth.

The story begins with the fairies excited about the competition to see who will bring in the most baby teeth. There is a chapter describing the building of a new school. The town has a trail where the fairies walk their dogs and a train to take them to Tooth Mountain where the baby teeth are unloaded for processing.

The tooth fairies wear caps made of baby teeth, and there is a chapter about the Tooth Fairy Queen needing to have a new crown made. Personally, I find the idea of wearing a tooth on my head rather horrifying, but it’s the sort of horrifying that will make kids giggle.

The book is the second in the Mission Baby Tooth series, but it works as a standalone. I liked the drawings and felt that the story was very clever. I particularly liked the section where tooth fairy Robbie chooses to give up his chance at the grand trophy, instead opting to help his friend Lil, whose wing has been injured. The message that winning isn’t everything is an important one.

There was nothing that I disliked about this book. The story is entertaining and appropriate for even the youngest children. I believe that the book was professionally edited as I found no errors in the text. The rhyme scheme flowed well, the text was easily readable, and the imaginative pictures enhanced the story. I give Mission Baby Tooth Book 2 four out of four stars.

This book is quite appropriate for children and parents alike. Especially for new parents who are curious to know what their baby's body is all about.

I can only imagine the fun kids and their parents will have reading this delightful book. The subject matter will always be relevant to youngsters, and the story seems really interesting. Thanks for the beautiful review!

Hmmm, I also wondered as a kid if tooth faries we're real and wished to find some cash in exchange for my tooth. Anyways this book might help me re-live those memories. Nice one

This is quite a cute book. Like you, I also find the idea of wearing teeth on my head (or anywhere for that matter) alarming. But I think it is silly enough to delight children.

What a delightfully entertaining and humorous book for children! I know I always wondered what happened to all of those baby teeth. I have to agree that I would not want to wear one for a hat, but I wouldn't be surprised if there a large portion of the children read this book who then want to create 'tooth caps' or 'tooth crowns'!
