This looks like a sweet story for children to help them learn to embrace their individuality. The illustrations are fantastic as well. Thank you for the great review!

Thanks for the review. More children's books about bullying are sorely needed. Kudos for this book.

Indeed we must never change ourselves to be accepted by others as we are unique and wonderful just the way we are. Great review.

The message of accepting and embracing everything different is extremely important. I'm glad this children's book has been written. Great review!

After reading about your personal experience with bullying and learning how the words and actions of others have affected you emotionally into your adulthood, I knew right away that today's BOTD is one that needs to be shared with all children. Not only will young readers immediately feel connected to Jessie on a personal level, but they may also find her situation relatable and the overall message inspiring. Thank you so much for sharing. I loved your review. :-)

I like that Jessie told her mother about what the kids in the park said. Children often internalize hurtful messages from others and sometimes have no one to whom they feel they can trust to share what is going on. This is a lovely book with many lessons to learn.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting children's novel about a young girl who likes dresses and her cat, LC Jones, and how she recovers after some kids in the park were unkind to her. It might be worth a second look. Well done.

This book teaches that's it's ok to be different, even if people don't see you the way you are. Always look at your positive aspects and don't let it get you down. It's a nice positive message to young children and shows how to overcome hurdles like being teased and how it makes you feel. It can also work by showing children not to laugh at others as well because it makes them sad.

Sounds like an inspiration to so many little kids who might have lost their self-esteem because of what someone might have said. To all the 'Dressy's out there, keep your chin up and find your light to shine. Congrats on the review and the BOTD.

The book had a really great message for kids. I did like in your review how you gave alternatives to the more Christian aspects of the text. It would be a way for everyone to be able to enjoy this book.
