This certainly deserves a perfect rating. The lesson is spot on as well. It will help boost children's self-esteem by helping to accept and embrace who they are. Thanks for the review.

The Adventures of Dressy Jessie and LC Jones is a children’s book by Kimberly Cortes. The main character is a little girl named Jessie who likes to dress in colorful clothes. She introduces herself and her cat, LC Jones, to the reader. Jessie tells a story about going to the park where she sees some kids she doesn’t know playing. She walks up to the kids and introduces herself and LC Jones to them.

These children are unkind and make fun of the way Jessie dresses, calling her Messy Jessie. Jessie runs home crying. When she tells her mother what happened, her mother comforts her by telling her that she is wonderful the way she is and encouraging her to give herself a nice nickname, which is how she chose Dressy Jessie.

This is a great book for children since it teaches them to respect others and not make fun of the way other children dress. Great official review.

Thank you for such a great review! I agree that many adults and peers suggested changing myself or ignoring others, but this demonstration of finding the positives is much better. It did seem like a great book when I skimmed it, so I'm happy it stood up to your closer inspection.

I like how this book communicates with the readers. The illustration is wonderful. The construction of each sentence was simple. The story teaches the children to be proud of who they are and be helpful because every child's little hand can do big things.

Growing up with the idea that something is wrong with you, is something any child should NEVER experience. I hope and pray that now that you are an adult that someone was able to tell you otherwise. We are all created differently and not wrongly. Thank you for the review. Added this to my TRB.

An admirable review by honestly sharing some sad experience that one can overcome given the right advice and positive response which this book imparts. A nice book for both parents and children to share and read together.
