I used to dream what Wade experienced, ride a bird. I'm excited to follow Wade's journey with the bird. Congratulations to the author for winning the BOTD!

Making observations through a "bird's-eye-view", pun intended, would definitely be a remarkable journey. The way the author presented the idea would make even the young minds of children to be able to grasp the messages. Good job with the review!

I liked where this book is headed. It’s always nice to have books that help kids in the emotional and mental health department. It’s not quite mys tyle but I know there are readers who will enjoy it. Thanks for a great review!

Engaging the self awareness in children is an interesting aspect of this story. I wonder about the transcendentalist area of the book due to it being a belief system. Good review.

It seemed a bit complicating at the start to understand what the book was about, then I got to realize it's a short, colorfully illustrated children's book that teaches valuable lessons like love.

This is a wonderful read for children. There is much to like about it: visually captivating illustrations, straightforward plot, engaging text, and many more. Fans of children's books will also enjoy it. Congratulations on the BOTD.

Your review has intrigued me. Although I am an adult with no children, I feel like giving this book a try. Getting to meet a carefree child and joining him on his journey to self-actualization sounds like a treat to me.

I have to agree with you, I think emotional development is one of the foundations of strong mental health. I like Bergner's concept of a kid gets to ride on a bird's back for some adventure.

The Bird Ride looks like a book children will enjoy to read. Which child would not be ecstatic at an opportunity to fly like a bird? The setting is ideal. The new and improved understanding that the bird's- eye -view of the world around him brings about makes the story even more alluring.
The review is great, thank you.

Thank you for the detailed review! I'm not sure if children will be able to deduce the spiritual subtext in the book. But for what it is, it sounds like a very interesting book. I think it is important that children get in touch with spirituality at an early age, maybe it will be of great help to their understanding of the world in the future. Good job by the author.

This seems like an awesome book for the kids. The book seems to teach a valuable lesson to the small ones. The illustrations would make it more interesting and easy to grab the little one's attention. Congrats on BOTD!!

I know it's a children's book and all but the size reduction thing is hilarious. It reminds me of so many other movies and books. Still, this book has some deep messages about childhood vs. adulthood and the lessons are worth mulling over.

I'm a mom and a teacher and I think me, my students, and my daughter would benefit big time from this book. I love that it has discussion questions. I honestly need that for checking if they understand the book or not. Thanks!

A fascinating story about a boy that befriends a bird that takes him on flights above his community. The boy had to undergo a size adjustment so that he could fit on the shoulders of the bird. As a young child I used to dream about flying and I wonder if it is a common dream. I never dreamt of befriending a bird and having the bird fly me above my community. A very interesting story that should be read to young children because it focuses on hope and success. Very good review.
