Can you relate to that feeling you get when you solve a problem? Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat by R. F. Kristi is the seventh book in its series that gives the details and content of the diary of a detective cat, Inca.

Inca, her mom, and her siblings went for a holiday on an island in Sri Lanka. As they were enjoying their holiday, Inca became interested in the news of a stolen sword and other items at the Colombia Museum. So, Inca, Terrance, her siblings, and their new friends began to investigate the theft. What do you think? Will a group of animals be able to catch the thieves and recover the stolen items? You must read this book to find out the answers and get to know more about their adventures.

The most intriguing thing about this book was its characterization as a fable. The addition of colorful text and illustrations created a young child’s visual and mental impression of the storyline. The front cover page was well designed, which was what attracted me to select the book. Another interesting thing was how the author structured the book chronologically. It showed that the author had the children in mind while writing the story.

The introduction to Inca’s family and detective team gave a vivid description of each significant character, and this foundation helped in their neat progression. Inca’s recognition of the leopard as her cousins teaches the importance of knowing our family background and cultural source. Also, Inca’s leadership, determination, enthusiasm, and zeal can serve as an inspiration to the children.

I am rating this book 4 out of 4 stars because of the positive points listed above. Also embedded in the book are moral lessons for kids. The coordination among the animals in identifying the criminals showcased teamwork, unity, and lack of discrimination. Those are essential morals for our kids.

On a final note, there is nothing to dislike about the book. It was well edited because I noticed only a few grammatical errors. I would gladly recommend the book to children between the ages of seven and twelve years.
