Review of Mister Pushkin Springs Into Action
Mister Pushkin Springs Into Action: 12 Springtime Tales by AC Michael is the fourth book in the series. Spring is approaching and Mister Pushkin is looking forward to walking in the park and chasing squirrels. As usual, trouble seems to follow wherever Mister Pushkin goes. When he thinks he is doing something good, it turns out to have bad consequences. This pedigree Ukrainian Blue cat will do anything for some smoked salmon and skimmed milk. Join Mister Pushkin as he goes on a hot-air balloon ride, finds treasure in a garden, and attends a wedding.
This book will keep you entertained for ages. Michael’s writing style is simple for children to be able to read but descriptive enough for adults to enjoy as well. The story was written very well, and it flowed smoothly. I think this is one of the reasons why Michael’s books are all so good.
I really liked that some of the previous characters were brought back in this book because it made it feel complete. I cannot pick my favourite character in this book because I loved all of them. Mister Pushkin’s witty humour is what had me turning the pages. I found myself reading the chapters and wondering what Mister Pushkin will do next to ruin the situation.
If you haven’t started reading the series, I highly recommend you do. There are a couple of life-changing events that take place in this specific book. I can’t write what they are here, so you’ll have to read it to find out. The ending was definitely unexpected, but it was a good surprise. It makes me excited to read the next book and find out how Mister Pushkin’s life will change after this revelation.
There was nothing I disliked about the book. At 141 pages long, this book isn’t too long or too short for children to read. Just like the other books, this one could also be read as a standalone.
Overall, I would rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because I think it’s a great book for all cat lovers out there. I didn’t find any mistakes, so it is professionally edited. I recommend this wholesome, light-hearted read to children aged 7-13. I think adults can also enjoy this book.
