Review of Unicorns Know Magic
Childhood is a threshold of acquiring good values, and stories endure the most amazing way to teach good manners and values to kids. Children readily learn these when the story is blended with magic and adventure. Unicorns Know Magic by Charles T. Adkins is a stunning picture book for children. The story introduces kids to their fond imagination, the unicorns.
A young boy narrates the story of four beautiful unicorns who moved in next door. He along with his sister dived and explored the wondrous world of unicorns. They became friends with the unicorn family and set out for a wonderful adventure with them. They did all the amazing things like riding on the back of unicorns, visiting France, learning French words, etc. But, did their magical adventure stop when they returned home or were there many exciting things ahead? Read this engrossing book to know.
The author is a retired school teacher and an entrepreneur. He loves to tell stories. He believes each story must have a purpose to inspire the reader. In this book, he beautifully narrates the tale of a unicorn family and connects them to two children. The children are amazed when the unicorns do various activities like juggling and roller skating. The values and manners of the unicorns in the story will surely inspire the reader.
The book is packed with electrifying illustrations by Ros Webb. This is the thing I loved the most. The charming pictures of the unicorns, the star-studded sky, and two happy kids wandering high, instantly transform the reader to a mystical world. The brilliant magic of the colorful pictures makes the words come alive. I also appreciate that at the beginning of the story, the author has given a page full of pictures that summarizes the story at a glance.
There is nothing that I dislike in this book. It is a short story with the power to connect with the reader. It not only entertains but also instills values into kids. The content of the story is written using rhyming words. This rhythm of the story made it more intriguing and appealing. Furthermore, the book is written in a simple language, and I did not find any typographical error in it. It is an exceptionally well-edited book.
I happily rate this book 4 out of 4 stars. The book embraces a fascinating world for kids who always want to explore the magical world. It provides wings to their imagination with the help of outstanding illustrations. The book is also a medium to learn good values. It also explains a few French words to the reader. This is truly fun.
I recommend this book to children from ages 5 to 10 years. Parents or grandparents of toddlers can read this delightful book as a bedtime story to their kids. The book is an amazing combination of text and brilliant colors. So, read this book to fly high with your favorite unicorn.
