Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat by R.F Kristi is an adventurous book for children. The author tells a story about Inca, a cat detective and head of Inca and Company detective agency who goes on a holiday vacation with her mother, Missy(a human), and her siblings, Fromage and Cara, who are cats also. They all embark on an eventful trip to the sunny island of Sri Lanka.

While on the island, Inca gets to hear the news about a stolen antique sword from the main museum. She then works with a friend of hers, who also happens to be a well-known detective, Solo, and his dog, Terrance, to apprehend the perpetrators behind the theft with the help of some of the new friends she made.

A fascinating part of the book was the illustrations. The images were appealing and clear. I believe children would love them as it promoted my reading experience. Character-wise, I was happy with the teamwork displayed between Solo and the different animals; Inca and her cat siblings, Meena the elephant, and the tortoise, all fostering unity in diversity. I loved that the book talked about the importance of cooperation and determination; these qualities are part of the vital things kids need to learn as they grow, and it was illustrated in the book.

The book was quite humorous, majorly due to the antics of Fromage, who was a naughty but lovable character. Also, the book portrayed the willingness to help your friends in their time of need. This would encourage young children to love and bond with one another from an early age. This was what I liked most about the book.

However, kids might find a few of the vocabulary challenging to understand at first, but with proper guidance, it can be remedied. For example, UNESCO was mentioned in the book, but it wasn't explained adequately. This was what I disliked most about the book.

Despite this, the book was exceptionally well edited as I could find no error in it. I would rate the book, Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat by R.F Kristi, 4 out of 4 stars due to the illustrative and likable characters, also due to the exciting and informative nature of the book, all of which would be to the delight of the young children. I recommend this book to parents and teachers alike searching for a perfect kiddies book for their children and students between the ages of six to nine to promote a healthy reading culture.
