Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R.F Kristi is a story in a series for children. Inca, a Siberian cat and the head of Inca and Company detective agency, goes on a holiday with her feline siblings, Fromage and Cara, and human mother, Missy, to South Korea. Missy had been selected to be part of the Cordon Bleu's french patisserie competition as a judge. She also wanted to use the opportunity to launch her new cheese recipe. Trouble presents itself when Missy's cheese is stolen at the airport in Seoul.

The family, along with the detective Solo, and his dog, Terrance, soon find themselves saddled with the task of reuniting Missy's travel guide, Ye Jun, with his sister, who he hadn't seen in years.

The book teaches healthy curiosity, friendship, and love between pets and humans. It also encourages the need to help one another in times of need. All these are desirable qualities that should be imbibed in children from a young age.

The book incorporated different facts and traditions about South Korea, making it a good teaching aid for children interested in traveling and learning about the culture of a different race.

Also, the pictorial description in the book made it all the more likable as it would encourage children to engage and understand the story properly with little or no difficulty. This was what I liked most about the book.

The tension that came alongside the political difference between South Korea and North Korea left me feeling skeptical about its inclusion in the book. I believe that it wasn't a necessary addition considering the young audience, and it could have been removed entirely. This was what I disliked most about the book.

Notwithstanding, the book was a terrific read. It was exceptionally edited, as I could not notice one error while I read it. Due to the error-free nature of the book and its simple yet captivating and illustrative storyline, I would rate Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R.F Kristi 4 out of 4 stars. I recommend this to children between the ages of seven to eleven.
