The sun is out one bright morning, so Little Jiffy and Mommy set out for an adventurous day. After a playful day by the lake with Jiffy's friends, the tall duo heads home to rest. This beautiful day, however, takes a worrisome turn when Little Jiffy becomes ill. What's going to happen now? I Love You, Little Jiffy by Anca Nista was about a young giraffe named Little Jiffy.

Concurring with the author, this book is suitable for children of 0 to 8 years. The book was a very simple and short read, with about 22 pages and an average of 12 words per page, and the only mentioned characters were Little Jiffy and Mommy, both of whom were likable. The story was illustrated with beautiful drawings by Anastasia Skatova. Interestingly, Jiffy's gender was not indicated.

My favorite thing about this book was its illustration. The pictures were colorful, bold, and detailed; they would certainly catch the attention of any reader. Another thing to like about this book was its diction. The diction was as colorful and beautiful as the pictures, and the words would pose some interesting challenges for the young readers. Still on its commendable features, there were a couple of things to learn from this short read. The story portrayed the need for rest after playing or working, and Jiffy teaches the reader to be kind and appreciative.

On the downside, I felt this book's content was too basic, even for children. What was supposed to be the climax, Jiffy's illness, lasted for only a page! The effect of this is that the story is less memorable. Also, there were about 4 patterned—but blank—pages at both the beginning and end of the book. Those pages were unnecessary, and I certainly did not enjoy flipping through them. Other than a couple of comma splices, I didn't notice any other errors in this book. Since these errors could be dismissed as minor, I believe this book was professionally edited.

This little book fell short of perfection and it didn't give me the 4-star thrill, so I'll rate it 3 out of 4 stars. I Love You, Little Jiffy would make a good bedtime story for little children. They may need some help with pronouncing and understanding words like "exploring" and "adventurous."

I do believe that books on specific topics and all are better appreciated by readers who have an interest in them. Regardless, you have a well-written review that gives the reader an insight into what to expect. Congratulations on a good review.

Cute cover page. I guess a basic content is suitable for children.
