Where there is a will there's a way.
We have all heard the above saying at one point or another. It is quite true that if one sets their mind to do something, he or she can achieve anything in life. Kindness breeds kindness. If we show kindness, it is natural that we would be the recipient of kindness.

Rainbow Gal underlines the importance of will and kindness in her book, I Can be Kind. Oscar is a piranha who was flushed in the toilet by his owner. Now, he lives in a pet store. His only joy in life is terrorizing neighboring goldfish who eventually become his meal at some point. To his utter surprise, a goldfish named Marla comes to befriend him. Oscar is astonished by her courage and her sheer willingness to be his confidante.

Will Oscar give Marla a chance to be his friend? Will he finally find true acceptance and happiness? What lies in store for Oscar and Marla who may very well find herself in a position to be his meal one day? Would love and kindness conquer nature's law?

Rainbow Gal is the pen name of Carole St-Laurent. Along with being a talented author, St-Laurent is also a singer-songwriter. Her love for animals is apparent in her book. In this illustrated children's book, she shows that even a prey can befriend her predator through kindness. The simple writing style highlights her message of benevolence in a clear manner. The vivid and clear style of writing makes it easier for children to understand. Also, I have to mention that there are no profanities. I love the colorful and fun illustrations. The illustrations enliven the story. This can easily capture and retain the attention of children.

The book is flawless in all respects. The editing is professional. I could not find a single error. All these aspects make I Can be Kind a perfect read for children. Rainbow Gal teaches us a valuable lesson of kindness. She also keeps us engaged with the enjoyable illustrations and descriptive writing style. I recommend Rainbow Gal's I Can be Kind to children, their guardians, and teachers. I believe animal lovers would immensely enjoy this book as well.

Keeping in mind the pros and cons, I am more than happy to award I Can be Kind a perfect rating of 4 out of 4 stars.

The story is more of "a lion dinning with a sheep" of course, you know what to expect in the long run.
Can't wait to find out what eventually happened between Oscar and Marla.
I equally love the cover illustration.
Wonderful review.

I believe that we should teach children to be kind, but the example given in the story is illogical. Even if a goldfish tried to befriend a piranha, the piranha will will never turn out to be vegetarian. But I really loved the cover. The illustrations are great. And thanks for the nice review.
