Review of Mister Pushkin Turns Over A New Leaf
The book Mister Pushkin Turns Over A New Leaf by A. C. Michael follows the adventures of a charming cat. His name is Mister Pushkin. A very smart animal, this cat is also a real troublemaker. It's hard to say what kind of a trick this cat will pull on the next page of the book. He can both save a whole family of hedgehogs and thoroughly ruin the relationship of his unlucky owner with his employer. Twelve short stories are devoted to the adventures of this wonderful animal, united under the general title Mister Pushkin Turns Over A New Leaf.
Of course, there are many books in the world about cats, dogs and other pets. However, the stories about Mister Pushkin stand out from the literature of that kind for several obvious merits.
This book is written in excellent literary language. At the same time, the author is very realistic in describing sounds, smells and colors. When he writes about a cold autumn wind or a burning fire, you can almost smell them. Besides, Mister Pushkin Turns Over A New Leaf is faultlessly edited. There are no typos or mistakes in this book.
Mister Pushkin Turns Over A New Leaf has a lot of humor. Mister Pushkin and his owner frequently find themselves in funny situations. Nonetheless, the humor in this book is by no means limited to unexpected and ridiculous situations. It permeates the entire book and even shows through the language of the author. After all, he describes the adventures of the magnificent Mister Pushkin, not without subtle irony.
The undoubted merit of these stories about a spoiled cat is also the numerous episodes written from the point of view of Mister Pushkin himself. For example, the author writes very convincingly about how the cat wants to grab a flying duck or how attractive and exciting for him the "irresistible aroma" of a rat. The best thing is the author’s remark about the wide pink tie of his owner's guest that in the eyes of Mister Pushkin had “a striking resemblance to a lovely big fillet of salmon”. Sometimes it seems that the author himself is a cat or was in touch with several representatives of the genus of felines.
It should be noted that Mister Pushkin Turns Over A New Leaf is the second book in the Mister Pushkin series. Anyway, it can be easily read without reading the previous book. This is because all the books in this series are collections of short stories about the same feline character. It's like a TV series that you can start watching from any season or even from any episode. The structure of Mister Pushkin books makes them very easy to read for restless kids or busy grown-ups. Such a book can be put aside and resumed reading at any time without fear of losing the plot thread.
As for any possible shortcomings, they are just absent in Mister Pushkin Turns Over A New Leaf. Therefore, I give this literary work 4 out of 4 stars. In theory, this book is intended for children. Even then, Mister Pushkin Turns Over A New Leaf can appeal to grown-up readers, too, due to its great literary language and subtle humor.

This book is really very well written. It is not over-sugary, as is often happens with children's books.Shakiera Reece wrote: ↑01 Jan 2022, 02:59 I like that this children's book can also appeal to adults. Mister Pushkin seems like a feisty cat. I like your review
