Review of Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat
Inca is a cat detective. Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat is the seventh book of the Inca Book Series. Like other books from this series, Inca and her team solve a detective mystery. The book starts with an introduction of Inca's family and her detective team; they had traveled to Sri Lanka from London. One Monday morning, Mom, a humanoid, finds out that an old, antique sword she had hoped to see at the Colombo Museum had been stolen. Solo, their next-door neighbor at Kensington, is an international detective. He arrives in Sri Lanka to solve the case. Inca's detective agency also attempts to solve the case. What you'll be interested to find out is if the case is solved by the humanoid or the cat detective agency.
R.F. Kristi was inspired to write this series by her animal pet discovered in Africa. Her love for detective stories is visible as she reaches out to children with the books of this series. The proceeds of this series would be dedicated to animal rescue efforts in developing states. In this book, R.F. Kristi talks about different animals and locations.
Helping out is always a great thing. Inca may be snoopy, but she uses her personality to solve a problem wherever she goes. I found this interesting, as children could learn to invest their personalities into making a better environment. It may not be as a detective, but they're probably other ways to help. Again, the idea of an animal detective team excites me, and I can't help but imagine what it'll feel like in reality. Humans could be limited as a result of their visibility. I like that this story highlights the strengths and weaknesses of humanoids and animals.
This book was professionally edited; I barely found errors in it. It's interesting and would be fun for children. The illustrations make the story easier to picture. It's hard to mention a negative aspect of this book. My rating for this book is 4 out of 4 stars. It deserves a perfect rating.
This book would be great for animal lovers and fans of detective stories. Readers between ages 8 and 12 should enjoy this book.
