[Following is an official OnlineBookClub.org review of "3 Magic Dreams" by Matt Bolton Art.]
3 Magic Dreams by Matt Bolton Art is a children’s book that contains three separate stories in one. The three stories are Gilby, The Time Machine Twins, and Dara’s Dreams. Gilby decides to go and look for some food when they run out. Unfortunately, he gets swallowed by a monster who then spits him out on an island far away. Will Gilby make it back to his friends with some food?
The twins receive a time machine for their birthday. What was supposed to be a toy turns out to be real. The twins find themselves transported to the time of dinosaurs and cavemen. Will they make it back home safely? Dara’s family makes a lot of noise. When Dara is sleeping, he can hear the sounds of his family members. What happens when he starts hearing his family from his dream?
I had read and reviewed the story of Gilby before and I enjoyed it very much. With this in mind, I had high hopes of going into this one. I can say that the book did, in fact, live up to my expectations. Each of these three stories was unique and fun to read. The illustrations in the book were beautiful to look at, and I felt like they made the stories come alive.
The stories are very short in length, which makes them perfect for young children to read. Even though the book is short, it’s packed full of valuable information. Children can take away some important lessons. For example, they get taught the importance of asking for help when needed, and the importance of friendship. With that being said, there was nothing that I disliked about the book.
Overall, I rate this book 4 out of 4 stars because of the points I mentioned above. I didn’t find any mistakes, so it is exceptionally edited. I think this book would be great as a bedtime story. I highly recommend this book to children between the ages of 6-11. If young children find this book difficult to read, then they will enjoy just flipping through the pages and viewing the illustrations.
