Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat by R.F. Kristi is an adventurous diary of a cat named Inca. It is the seventh book in the children’s book series written by the same author. The story is about a cat detective agency led by Inca, a Siberian kitten. The book starts with Inca and her family on vacation on the island of Sri Lanka in Southeast Asia. Soon after arriving, Inca and her companions discover that an ancient sword has been stolen from a local museum. With the help of their new friends, Inca and her companions go in search of the stolen treasure. Join the group of detectives in this adventurous story as they use their crime-solving skills in search of the national treasure.

This is an amazing children’s book with a lot of positive aspects. I liked the use of illustrations, which was the first thing I noticed about the book. The cover page and picture of the kittens relaxing on the island already said a lot about the book. I thought the book offered a lot of great lessons. I loved the lessons about culture, how to conquer fear, love, friendship, the importance of family, and other amazing lessons. I also found the interaction with other animals in the jungle fun, like the first interaction with the baby elephant. The author did not forget teamwork; the message was very clear to the readers. It is very important that kids know the benefits of working together.

There wasn’t much that I did not like about the book. It was an amazing read. I just thought that the many names of characters and places could be overwhelming for a child. Apart from that, and one or two words that could require a kid to check the dictionary, which could also be an opportunity for them to learn new words, I loved everything about the book.

This was my first book in the series, and I enjoyed it. I did not feel like I needed to have read the previous series to understand the characters. My rating for this book is 4 out of 4 stars. This is because the book was simple and easy to read. I kept imagining my pet being a part of the detectives. Every child would love the colorful illustrations. I did not find any errors while reading; the book was perfectly edited.

I recommend this book to children from ages 7 to 12. They will be entertained and also learn a lot from the story. Younger kids will like the illustrations and fun parts of the book. Kids might end up playing detective games with their pets after reading this book. I also think that the book will appeal to adults who love pets.
