It can be challenging, especially for children, coping when parents or loved are away from us, even for an hour. But then I would like to know how Mary Grace and Donny were able to adapt to the new environment in their grandparent's place. And then, the moral lessons in this story should impact the readers in one way or the other.

I'm already done reading this book. I can relate to Mary Grace when she leaves her beloved Wichita, Kansas City, and her friends. I love the idea of writing about things you like. I agree with your idea about the way the author handles the bully in the story.

We must be selective about the books we allow children to read; this is an excellent option. A book to learn about bullying, intolerance and that there are people with special needs. I did not expect it to be a book with a mystery, it makes me very curious.

I believe children will enjoy the adventures of the protagonists. I believe there are several lessons that will be useful to both parents and children.

Mary and Donny must have been devastated after the news of their parents leaving for two years but little did they know they are in for a great adventure to California.
Thanks for the amazing review and congrats to the author.

This is such a wonderful children's book that promotes inclusivity. Children would surely learn a lot and enjoy the mystery that this book offers.

The family love is incomparable. I really love to see families grow in love. The review is interesting, I am sure the book will be more interesting. I know how the kids will feel when they have to relocate to California without there parents but thanks to God the happy days continued.

I love that the story is family oriented. I also like that the story touches on disability and bullying. I know that children will be entertained by Donny and Mary Grace's adventures. Congratulations on making book of the day!

Wow!!! I like this book. Respect for every human person is a human right which should be protected. Donny, despite having special needs as a person with down syndrome received so much love and acceptance from his parents, siblings and grandparents. The bullying was well handled, even in his school. "Donny and Mary Grace's California Adventure" by Catherine Anna Pepe is a nice book for all kids and even parents, it gives great insights for socialization of children from an early age.
and of course I relate with the mission work in Africa, Kenya (my home Country).
I recommend it and agree with the 4 out of star ratings.

I'm immediately drawn to the tight bond that Donny and Marie have. The adventures they must have encountered while living with their grandparents have to be fun and life-changing. Congrats to the uathor for having the BOTD.

Your review compelled me to add this book to my bookshelves and start reading. I loved how the parents are devoted missionaries, and the backgrounds of Donny and Mary Grace demonstrate resilience.

I just read this book and I love it. I enjoyed how Donny and Mary went about their lives. I also loved the mysteries part although it's evident that the book is meant for kids because of how easy they were to solve.

I loved every moment the book had to offer. What I loved most was the positivity Donny spread to those around him? It did not matter how negative the situation, Donny made sure to share positive light. The lessons this book taught us are beyond valuable.

As a fiction addicted story, I'll rate this at 3/5, cuz the novel is kind of giving you reality topic that usually happened in life. This book will be good for kids since it applicated really easy words to read. If you like about school topic, kid parenting, and storytelling this must give a shot.
