Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat is a Children's book by R.F. Kristi. The book is the seventh standalone children's book in the Diary of a Snoopy Cat series. This novel follows Inca and her detective friends as they attempt to solve yet another mystery. While on vacation in Sri Lanka, Inca discovers that a valuable, old antique sword has been stolen from Colombo's main museum. This piques Inca's interest, and she immediately wants to assist in locating the culprits and retrieving the valuable sword. Solo, Inca's Kensington neighbor, had been invited by the director of the Colombo Museum to investigate the case of the stolen sword. Solo was a brilliant and well-known international private investigator. Terrence, Solo's capable assistant, could assist Inca by providing her with first-hand information about the case from Solo. This book is a must-read if you want to know how Inca and her detective friends solved the mystery of the missing sword.

I liked how the book gives insight into Sri Lanka's rich history and culture. According to the book, Sri Lanka has at least eight UNESCO World Heritage Sites crammed onto a small island. We also learn that Anuradhapura is the home of the world's oldest living human-planted tree. It is critical to learn about the cultures of various communities around the world. This book presents such information in a way that is both educational and simple for children to understand.

Another thing I liked about the book was how it was structured. The book is written in the style of a diary. Every chapter clearly depicts the date of the events as well as the time of day. This form aids the flow of the story by providing a smooth transition from one event to the next. Children can learn about keeping diaries by reading this book.

One thing that readers may object to is the author's deviation from the plot of the book. In one such case, Inca goes out at night and gets lost after encountering a terrifying python. After being aided by a tiger, Inca eventually finds her way home. This section of the story appears to be unnecessary because it does not advance the plot. The only thing it does is make the book unnecessarily long.

Serendipity Mystery: Diary of a Snoopy Cat is a fun, interesting, and educational book with great lessons for both kids and adults. The language used is fairly simple and should be understandable to children. The character development is also excellent. The book is also exceptionally well-edited. I enjoyed reading the book, therefore I give it the full rating of 4 out of 4 stars. Anyone who enjoys reading children's books will enjoy this book. This book would be appropriate for children aged 5 to 10.
