Cat Detectives in the Korean Peninsula by R.F. Kristi, shows the story of the cat Inca. The cat Inca is a Siberian detective cat and the head of the detective agency "Inca & Company." Her detective agency comprises Fromage, her diminutive brother, who was described as always being in a pickle. Cara, her Siamese sister, is said to have magnificent blue eyes. Monk, a blue Russian cat, is said to be sophisticated. Charlotte is a brilliant hamster, and Terrance is a big dog that is good in his detective role. Finally, there is Polo, a pub that thinks he is a big dog. Inca and her family of detectives have a human mother. The Inca family were enjoying their weekend when her mother broke the news to them. She had been selected to be one of the judges for the "French Patisserie Competition." The competition was organized by "Le Cordon Bleu" and was to be held in Korea. Inca’s mother thought of it as a wonderful opportunity to present her special cheese. The family agreed to make the trip. What happened during this trip? Were the cat detectives involved in another special secret assignment?

The author presented a beautiful children’s book. I love the manner in which the author used to tell the story. Inca was the centre of the story, and the author narrated the story from her perspective. I love how the author could narrate from the perspective of a cat. The author also captioned the events in a lovely way. Although only days of the week were used, it helped provide organization for the book. The caption also serves as a guide between events. I also like the cover page and design.

I feel this book is well designed considering it is meant for children. The language is an easy read for children. Therefore, I dislike nothing in the book.

I rate this book 4 out of 4 because the author wrote purposively. The author also characterized the cats very well. It also thrilled me how the author could present the thoughts of cats. The manner of narration was also coherent. I feel any child that reads the book will enjoy it.

I recommend this book to kids. It’s a good storybook for children in fundamental early learning classes.

Inca and his animal detectives are quite interesting characters to read about. I was touched by the risk they took to bring Ye-Jun's sister's cat across the North Korean border. Thanks for a compelling review.

I am not a big fan of children’s books. This probably comes from the fact that when I was a daycare provider I read the same books over and over. I do like that these types of authors use animal characters to portray human emotions
